First post of 2012!

First things first, Portland.

Man I love that city. There's just something about it that reinvigorates every aspect of me, I'm not sure if it's the fresh air or just how the city is, but it sure beats San Jose in every way possible..

I am please to announce that I'm SUPER excited to be shooting this year, as i have a BRAND NEW CAMERA to kick it off.. I finally ponied up and got a Canon 5dm2, which is FULL FRAME which means there's a whole lot more information in my photos which gives portraits especially a much better feel....

I had been using the Canon 7d for the last year, and while it is a great camera, it is suited for other things a lot better than portraits...
7d = Green Frame
5d = Black Frame


I recently realized that no matter how much I shot with the 7d the pictures didn't feel 'right' to me and I never felt comfortable using it and looking back at my past sets, some of my best ones were shot with my original 5d... SO yeah, Lyxzen was interested in it so whilst in Portland, I sold it to her, and received my 5dm2 in the mail when I got home!

So yeah after this last trip..... I think it is time to migrate north on a permanent status... I'm hoping to move up there in the summer before a friend's wedding up there.... there's tons of beautiful girls up there that would make excellent editions to the site, but no one to really shoot them... also I'd like to spend some more time with a certain girl who takes her name from a certain thieving bird.

SF SHOOT FEST IS COMING UP IN APRIL!!!

Damsel is going to make a trek from Ohio to attend and she's been on my shootlist forever! I think she'll be the first Dreaded girl i'm going to shoot for SG, so that's pretty exciting!

to all the girls that have written me, I'm still trying to figure out my schedule.. I know i have 2 slots confirmed already as for the other 2, I'm still trying to figure that out... Also there might be 2 pickup sets that I do which will be decided on the day of the shootfest... but for more details there is a thread in the SG NETWORK group and also the SG lounge so if you're not aware of the shootfest, then maybe you should be!

Saint is hosting it in this killer location and i'm excited to break it in for shooting in the next few weeks or so!

anyway, this year is starting off to a great start!! but then again they always do...

oh girls, just a little tip from your friendly photographer..
PLEASE DO NOT GIVE YOURSELF BANGS 10 minutes before the shoot! you' be surprised how much this has happened to me, and somehow bangs become quite the preoccupation when shooting because they're not used to it. Thanks!
