One of my best friends died today. He was sick, we all thought it was pneumonia but in fact it was pancreatic cancer. He went pretty fast, it was only a month since he first went to the doctor and found out. He didn't let any of us know until just last Thursday what was really wrong, there was no way to hide it anymore when they sent him home from the hospital with hospice care. I went to see him Saturday and he seemed 40 years older than he was. He looked old and frail, where as the last time I'd seen him before that he was home from the doc and talking about going back to work. I will always and truly always miss Bob, he was one of the funniest nicest people I'd ever known. My heart is heavy with his passing, it seems surreal that he's even gone.

Sorry that you have lost someone who sounds like they were a close friend. It's very sad when someone who was always there is no longer around. From what you post perhaps there is small consolation in that it sounds like they didn't have too much time to suffer which can sometimes be so hard for them and their friends and family. We will all be on the other side of this equation one day and we can only behave and feel now the way we would hope our friends and family will behave when it is us that have gone.

So sorry that you have lost someone so close to you....I'm going through the same emotional track right now. My mom passed away last Wed morning early.

Life is unexplainable sometimes, but in the end we are still here. Remembering the best times, the laughter, and all the smiles is what keeps us strong.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your dear friend. Cancer really sucks! My mom battled breast and lung, she survived, but she was one of the lucky ones. She was only gives a 16% chance of survival - 10 yrs ago!

My heart goes out to you!
