Had a dream last night.

I was wandering through a wide desert field with nothing but my trusty .44 Magnum (I call her "Blackhawk") and a few supplies. Out of nowhere a handful of Pidgeotto come at me, flailing at my arms and pushing me into a cavern that's hidden very well. Because I can see the birds perched right near the entrance I decide to venture deeper into my new discovery and hope to find a different way out.

A few flights of stairs later I discover I'm in a very intricate underground building. My heart beats with excitement as I start to imagine what I've discovered and the riches buried within, lost to another age.

Two Raiders rush past me, the first clearly holding something important since he's got it close to his chest. My V.A.T.S. makes short work of them and a quick peek ahead shows there are no others nearby so I begin to loot their corpses. Photographs and instruments that once belonged to a foursome from an ancient civilization in Liverpool, it seems. Good lord, I've stumbled into the ancient Beatles archives, haven't I?. But the music. The MUSIC ... why don't these men have it? It must be deeper inside. Perhaps something spooked them, hopefully it was the noise my arrival produced and not something deformed and hungry. I draw Blackhawk from her holster just to be safe. Wait, why didn't I go V.A.T.S. on those damn Pidgeotto? No time to wonder that, I have loot to discover!

Deeper I go, the darker it gets.

Deeper still, I can hear wild blowing violently and find an odd smell in the air.

Deeper yet, and I hear a noise.

I glance around quickly to find its source, and locate a tall empty bookcase that's on top of a pile of broken wood with some other furniture to the side. It appears to be blocking a large window for there is some light behind it ... a room. A large, glorious room with a old stone walls and a dirt floor. I pull the bookcase out a little to get a clear view but not...

I glance around quickly to find its source, and locate a tall empty bookcase that's on top of a pile of broken wood with some other furniture to the side. It appears to be blocking a large window for there is some light behind it ... a room. A large, glorious room with a old stone walls and a dirt floor. I pull the bookcase out a little to get a clear view but not to make my presence known. Soon the room floods with creatures. Gigantic insects, intelligent plants, something that looks like a Sandshrew, and a single man in ragged clothes. One of the plants lashes out at the man, grabbing his leg and throwing him to the ground. He appears startled but uninterrupted as the plant quickly loses interest and he gets back up and continues to walk around.

I notice some writing on the inside of the bookcase (sadly, I cannot recall what it was) and something happens. The large room starts to rumble slightly as a wood knot in an upturned dresser off to my left pops out and a horde of tiny insects pour out. Somehow I make short work of them, while the rumbling gets worse and the creatures in the large room start to huddle together. A deep yet quiet laugh erupts from the knot hole ...

I wake up, open my windows, get some clothes on and venture out into the living room. My roommate is watching the commentary tracks for How I Met Your Mother season four. We have breakfast, I eat bacon for the first time in what must be a year or so.
