I can't believe it's been that long since I postedeeekeeek The last month and a half have been a blur, between work and the kids(sports mostly) it feels like I haven't had 15 minutes to myself. To anyone who has posted new sets that I haven't commented on, I appolagise and promise to try and get caught up.

On the posative side, Ontario seems to be firmly clutched in springs grasp with cold weather behind us. It's great to be able to get outside again. I did manage to get Kayaking with my son last Sun for a couple hours, went down one of the local small rivers for a few miles. Weather was great, but the water wasa little low.

Yesterday was actually my sons 15th birthday. It was kind of funny last night, Wen and I went for a walk and were discussing how fast 15 yrs has gone by and how he was growing up. Within two minutes flat we were both all teary eyed about how our kids are getting older(not our little babies anymore). Honestly, I can be such an emotional sap sometimesblush

Anywhoo, I promise to try and keep up better. Gotta skoot to work. smile

Wow, I'm going into Olympic withdrawal!!!! Pretty much all I've done for the last couple of weeks when I wasn't at work was watch the Olympics. It was great!smile Now that it's over I'm lost. I'm so proud of all our Canadian athletes, they represented us marvelously. Event when the media was all negative because we weren't achieving to expectations, they just kept doing what they had to do. And in the process set a new record for GOLD medals!!! Way to go CANADAbiggrin!

I've been working so much the past month, I haven't had a whole lot of time to be on line. But I have managed to sneak a few peaks at all the recent posts from my Faves and Friends. A few words come to mind--- Wow, Awsome, Gorgeous, Beautiful, etc, etc. You guys are all so beautiful it's mind numbing!!!lovelove

In oth SG news, I recently joined the SG Canada East Group. Hopefully I'll be able to make some functions this year so I can meet you in personsmile.

Anywhoo, gotta scoot to work. I promise to try and keep my blog a little more up to dateblush

Wow, the past week has been brutal at work. I've had to work 5 12 hr shifts in the last 6 days, and I have to go in for another todayfrown. To top it off, I'm on afternoons so I don't really get to see the rest of my family all week. We talk alot on the phone.I actually work a pretty cool schedule that gives me every fifth week off, kinda like having an extra 10 weeks holidays a year.

Things at work have really slowed down. I work at a salt mine, and the majority of the salt we produce goes to highway de-icing. For anyone that lives in the Great Lakes area, you know we haven't had much of a winter. So we aren't selling a whole lot of salt. Everyone thinks that layoffs are imminent. The only good thing is I'm a supervisor, and staff don't generally get laid off.

Anyway, gotta bolt for work. I hope everybody has a great week-end, I'll post a proper blog on Mon when I have more time.

Well, I just booked my next tattoo appt so I'm fairly stoked about that. Gotta wait four weeks though.zoom image I've been working on it off and on since last Feb. That's my wife's name in the middle of the temple, 'cause I worship her so muchlove .

In other randomness, I took some photo's of some of the critters we have around the house. The little pug is Morticia(she rules the place), the bigger pug is Pugsley, the lab is Dozer(he's my dog), the tabby is Pumpkin, and the persian is Monty(he thinks he rules the place). We also have a parrot named Alex(he was in a bad mood from moulting so I wasn't getting him out), and two lizards(my kids each have one).

P.S. Thanks to Agy for the advice on sizing photos.

Ok, I need help. I want to post some pics, but I've taken them in too high a resolution so the files are too large (1.41MB). Does anyone know how to reduce the file size. I can resize them by pixel count, but that just makes for a small picture. I googled it, but it just seems to deal with mainly with resizing the photo, not file size.frown

I think that at some point in everyones life, they suddenly realise they are mortal. That epiphonie for me was turning 40 this year. I've always felt that I was still young, and hadn't changed since my early twenties. Recently though I've started to feel for lack of a better word-"old". Little things have started to happen, and they happen so slowly you don't notice them. I like to bike alot, but now I find after going for a decent ride it takes me a day to recover so I'm not sore. There are probably two factors that contribute to this more than anything. 1) I'm so busy with work and getting the kids to thier sports that I don't get the time to exercise myself enough. 2) I try to keep up with my kids when we do go out, and it practically kills me(I don't remember being that athletic and full of energy when I was that age).

However, I don't intend to let this slow me down. The moral of the story is that the saying is true- You are only as old as you feel. And I still don't "feel" 40smile
