That's theaceface shooting out some hard soul on the bass:

Outside the show...

They gave a discount on the admission price if you came on a scooter. Mods FTW.
23 years ago today began the longest love affair of my life, in the form of one of the finest pieces of television ever broadcast...

It made such an impression on me that, some time ago, I had symbols from the show indelibly marked on my body:

Happy anniversary, Twin Peaks. I love you, sweetie.

I'm so terrible with my blogging. But I'm not apologizing. I have a life outside of SG dammit! Haha.
Not a whole lot going on these days, so here's a random blog of randomness:
I was preparing dinner the other night, cutting some pork loin (my apologies, vegetarians! I know, I know... I am a guilt-ridden carnivore. I really am) and looked up to find that I was being stalked by 75% of the cats in my house...

Eek! I'm assuming that the only reason my other cat wasn't in on the hunt is because she was asleep in another room, unaware.

I absolutely love this film, so I picked up the new Criterion Collection Blu-ray last week. I was watching the special features and only now found out that it was based on a true story. Nuts.
I am now an official card-carrying member of the International Soul Rebels Society.

Are you familiar with this band? If not, you're really missing out!
Oh, and that's theaceface ripping up the bass there. Looking forward to saying hello to him when I see Suedehead next month.
I got a life-sized DEVO action figure, with keytar action grip (keytar not included)...

Fortunately for my wife, it's currently in a corner in my office. I haven't brought it home. At least not yet.
When I was a kid, I loved all things sci-fi. I was an enormous Star Trek fan (still am) and Star Wars all but changed my life as a child. I also used to enjoy Doctor Who and grew up watching the fourth Doctor. In my teen years, I sort of lost interest and moved on to other things. With the revival of the show over the last decade and all of the critical/fan acclaim, I want to revisit the series. Being the nerd I am, however, I don't just want to jump in from the newer series. I'm going way back to the original series, from 50 years ago and am going to watch all of the nearly 800 episodes. I have a lot of work ahead of me! I've already completed all of the episodes with the first Doctor. I'm curious to find out how long it will take me to catch up to present.
Oh, and the Doctor Who theme song used to scare the living shit out of me when I was a child.
That's about all I have for now. See you next time!

In my job, I accidentally came across info. that my wife was actually still alive but that the NSA had put her into a Witness Protection Program because she'd been hunted by foreign assassins. After discovering this, I was suddenly being hunted by a number of people. I believed they were trying to get to me to glean information as to the whereabouts of my wife (though I had no idea where she was!). It turns out I was being hunted by the NSA, who had sent government assassins after me, afraid that my knowledge of my very-much-alive wife would somehow make me compromise the intelligence info. to which I had access.
In the end, I escaped my would-be killers by hiding out at a Depeche Mode store playing pachinko machines. Yes, a Depeche Mode store.
The Selecter, was a huge part of my growing up. I had discovered the 2-Tone era ska bands when I was about 13 years old (way back in 1983, kids) and The Selecter was one of my favorites. To date, they are the only major 2-Tone act that I haven't seen live. That is about to change.
DEVO is a band I have been in love with since the age of 10. Like most people, it was the song "Whip It" that brought the band into my consciousness. It wasn't until a few years later that I grew to appreciate them for being so much more than just that single. Unfortunately, their post-punk brand of humor, cynicism and socio-political statements are unknown to most and they are largely just known as the band that did that catchy New Wave single.
Screw Whip It. Here's a better song:
So I will now be putting on my energy dome and geeking out.

I recently became aware of one of the latest memes to sweep the internets; The Harlem Shake. It is mildly amusing. Check the spoiler for some examples, if you're not familiar with the meme.
Being on a DEVO kick, I decided to contribute one of my own, so I present to you Harlem Shake DEVO Edition:
Now how's that for devolved?
'Til next time, Spuds!

or just maybe...

How would you choose to go?
