Well not much is going on in my world right now. Just work. I've got Bob/Willie/John to set up soon and then right into forecastle afterwards. After that shows are kinda dry for a while. A couple of things in French Lick might pop up but not a whole lot. In August I leave for tour though so that should be nice. I'll be out with HED PE and Mushroomhead. I won't be hard to find for those few weeks. I get to do a show in Columbus at the club where Dimebag was killed, that should be crazy.

Well, maybe I'll see some of you out on the road, look out for Hed and you're sure to find me.

I mixed monitors for the Meat Puppets last night. They were extremely cool and a pleasure to work with. I can know honestly say that I've mixed for someone who has played with Nirvana. This is quite a big deal to me as I was once A HUGE Nirvana fan.

After the show Chris and Curt both came over and thanked me for doing a great job and then tossed me a shirt. I've done a lot of shows in my time and to be honest a lot of people I've worked with or for are not the nicest people in the world. There have been a few that were outright assholes, i.e. Vince Neal, so it's a real nice change to have an artist be so laid back.

So I know I've been missing for a while and there is indeed a story behind that. On April the first I was let go by the company that gives me my more corporate shows. They said it would be temporary and that I should go use my old freelance connections for the month. I did exactly that and ended up booking several shows for myself. At the beginning of May they called me back and wanted me to come back to work. Having made several other commitments at that point I said I would come back but I would need them to work around my other shows. They told me that if I wanted to work for them that I needed to cancel some of those shows. I told them I would have to think about that and then ended up quitting.

So now rawk n' roll D is back in full swing. Later today I'll be at Lamb of God and for the remainder of the season I'll be the monitor tech at Waterfront Wednesday.

I'll see you in the trenches

Tonight at Uncle P's
Skeleton Witch!!!!!

This is one of very few metal bands that I actually like. Everybody and their brother is in a fucking metal band these days and quite frankly I'm pretty much sick of hearing metal all the time but Skeleton Witch is the real deal. If you've never heard them before then you need to check them out.

I'll be at P's tonight to mix as many bands as my friend Pat will allow me to get away with. I know that if SW doesn't have there own engineer we're going to get into a fight about who gets to mix them. If you are anywhere near Louisville than you need to come out tonight and watch this show.

Hello all

Well I lucked out a little bit and my company sent me to Detroit for a few days to do a conference. It was full of the scummiest people imaginable, pharmaceutical sales reps. These are the folks who go to doctors offices and attempt to get them to prescribe particular medicines. The one bright spot was when the guy who was to teach them about selling Levitra ( hard on medicine like viagra ) turned out to be named, and you can't make this stuff up, JOHN HOLMES!

Anyhow I am back from Detroit, my power has been restored and things are beginning t thaw out here. Hope all survived as best they could and that this is the end of winter nastiness for us all.

Well winter has returned in full force. I currently have no electricity and therefore no heat at my apartment. The electric company says it could be as long as 7 to 10 days before they restore power to everyone. A small branch fell on my car and cracked the windshield but other wise I've escaped with little to no harm.

Yesterday morning I watched a girl nearly die. She was walking on the opposite side of the street from me and as she passed under a 70-80 feet tree I heard an intense POP almost like a pistol being fired. She double timed a little further down the sidewalk while a limb 25-30 feet long and maybe 2 feet in diameter came crashing down not but a few feet from her. The limb caved in the roof of the car it landed on and set off it's alarm. Had she left her house a mere second later than she had she may very well have died or at least been severely hurt.

It's almost post apocalyptic out here right now. People are scrambling for food at the few groceries that have power, ambulances and fire trucks scream endlessly up and down barren roads going to emergencies unknown, in Owensboro where my family is they're saying it could be three weeks before power is restored. Yesterday I couldn't even call in there.

The news is even saying that there is more snow and ice on the way!

In every possible sense I am being pushed to the edge of my ability to handle things. I'm financially strapped and emotionally drained.

I do still retain hope that there is something better on the other side of this monumental struggle, but what I have learned in my few years is that hope and heart don't really count for as much as you'd think.

Anyway best of luck to anyone else suffering through this storm.

Stay hopeful and WARM

Hello all

Just a few quick thoughts for you. It's begun to warm a little here finally and as the weather improves so does my mood. The fine weather has inspired me to try and make peace with the ex but she can't seem to find it in her heart to forgive and forget. It's all a little funny to me as I have no interest in reuniting or even really being friends. I do however wish to end the hateful nature of things lately. I can't exactly pretend like I'm innocent but it does seem to me like there''s plenty of blame to go around. It's just so damn confusing to me how easily good intentions can turn to scorn.

Anybody out there have stories or advice they'd be willing to share on the subject?

Constructive criticism is always welcome in this corner of the world.

Well it's January and things are very slow for me right now. If it wasn't so cold I'd peddle my ass on the street.

Alas though not everyone likes a lady with a beard!

Warm wishes to all suffering through this intolerable chill!

I mixed a show for my friends in Anikythera and I may be their new sound guy for good now. It's honestly not my favorite music in the world but the guys in the band are really nice and down to earth so it's fun to work with them. If you get a chance to check them out please do.

I also drove to Hartford Ky to do a benefit show recently. A friend of my old boss, Reggie, had terminal cancer and no health insurance. The show managed to raise $8500 for his families medical expenses so it was a great success. I got to mix a seven band show all by lonesome and had a great time doing it. I'm a little out of practice so the first few mixes were nothing to brag about but after a while I got it going again. Some of the guys in the last few bands even made a point of coming over and saying how good the house sounded so maybe I haven't lost it after all!
