Ottawa this weekend was amazing. Winterlude was a great time, a bit cold, but that's my own fault, forgot my damn hat...

Hopefully I'll get some pics up, but I'm at work, so it won't be right now.

So, the trip down wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. Toronto traffic was actually less than I expected to hit, and after Toronto, the roads were nice and clear, clear blue skies till the other side of Kingston. Was enjoying the trip so much, I missed the exit for the 416, and didn't realize it for 2 more exits, that felt dumb, but got turned around, and was still a ways ahead of my friends in the other car when I got back to the 416.

Went straight to the Rideau Center, parked and streched my legs before walking over to City hall for the Opening Ceremony.

Ceremony was amazing, but freaking cold, even the "Warm-up Zone" was cold, and if you weren't standing directly under the few heaters, and basically touching them, it was icey cold. The first artist up was some female singer from NW territories or something, and I wasn't a fan of the style, so I totally forgot her name. Next up were some fire dancers or whatever you'd call them, one guy had a flaming baton, a girl had 2 flaming ball and chains, another gurl had a fan shaped arch, also flaming. And, there was a guy juggling flaming balls. And, while this was going on, the announcer was boring the shit out of the croud for half the performance, then, A Tribe Called Red started, and I liked them, lots of drums, and the native vocals were amazing.

Following a Tribe Called Red was the aerial show, which wasn't what I expected. I was expecting a Circe like act, which this wasn't, very low impact , but very well done, they descended the face of City hall, and considering how cold it was, I was quite impressed. Then, another drum show which was amazing, and after the drums came the fireworks show. Whole show was amazing, but quite cold....

Got to go...
