If you don't understand the importance of the local mom-n-pop recrod stores, now is the time to educate yourself! It has never been more important to support these treasure chests of musical history than now. Find your local store this Saturday (or every day!!) and buy something, anything. But some 45 from a band you've never heard of and just listen. Open your mind and your ears and let's get back the vital culture of music that downloading has all but destroyed.
This quote says it all...
Nick Hornby (Author, High Fidelity, Slam)
"Yes, yes, I know. It's easier to download music, and probably cheaper. But what's playing on your favourite download store when you walk into it?
Nothing, that's what. Who are you going to meet in there? Nobody. Where are the notice boards offering flatshares and vacant slots in bands destined for superstardom? Who's going to tell you to stop listening to that and start listening to this? Go ahead and save yourself a couple of quid. The saving will cost you a career, a set of cool friends, musical taste and, eventually, your soul. Record stores can't save your life. But they can give you a better one."

I need a better pic. Perhaps I will play with the camera tomorrow. Anyway, I have never posted in this journal before. In fact, I have been a LIve Journal guy for awhile now. But, I am thinking I will use this site from now on. I guess what I am saying is, here I am! I will commit to you SG and be the best writer I can be to make you proud. And put up a better picture soon.
