Thank you everyone for your positive thoughts.
This weekend, two of my dearest friends, Mae the Bellydancer aka Spiffy Kins and her wonderful partner Meggan fell victim to a tragic house fire on. The fire claimed the life of their dear cat, and most of their possessions were completely destroyed. I'm so thankful that they're safe and sound, but they are left with almost nothing.
Let's help them get back on their feet! You can donate and leave your well wishes at the link below. If you're local, there's also a food train initiative going on. Contact me for details on that.

It's easy to forget sometimes how very lucky you are. My heart is breaking right now for two of my very best friends. Please, do me a favor and keep them in your thoughts and prayers in the coming days. Any positive thoughts would be so very helpful, and most appreciated.
My love goes out to all of you.
My love goes out to all of you.
Life is a whirlwind!
No time to catch up on everything right now, but there will be more soon! Lots of new bookings and collaborations coming up, which is always exciting.
Right now, though, I just want to share some super exciting news with you all.
I just made my debut on Zivity! Please check out my very first set, "Communiqué", shot by Sauda at Suadela Intimates headquarters!
Here's a peek at what members can expect to see:

Please consider showing me some love in the form of votes! More votes will get you sexy outtakes that won't be shared with just anyone! <3
I'll have more to dish soon, loves! Thank you for being beautiful!

Sorry I've been away so long. This is re-posted from my brand new website, in case you're wondering what I've been up to the past trillion months since I last blogged. My bad!
"As the exclamation point to a fun, tragic, sexy, scary, thrilling and challenging 2011, I've launched this new website. I welcome all of you to the central hub for all things Cruel Valentine, and invite you to follow my blog into 2012, if you can handle it!
Now that the holidays are out of the way, I can focus on preparing for the nonstop burlesque-a-thon that will be 2012. Next year already has a ton of exciting things in store, both on a personal level and professionally, and I can't wait to tackle all of the challenges that it has in store for me. Bring it on!
I'll be finishing out 2011 with a bang (or two, if you're lucky) at the Festival of Flesh Pre-NYE Kick-Off Show at Lucky Number Grill with tons of great performers, friends and fans! Maybe I'll see you there?
To start off January, Suadela Intimates will be participating in The Art of Burlesque, a gallery reception and fashion/burlesque show at The 1901 Gallery Theatre on January 13th and 14th. This event will feature art, live performance and fashions by Suadela, as well as other local designers. Also - COCKTAILS! What could be better? The 1901 is like a second home to me. The good folks who run this versatile and unique space are my family. I would greatly appreciate it if you could donate or at least spread the word about their Kickstarter Campaign to help keep this very important hub of sexy creativity alive! This venue is home to burlesque, comedy performances, visual art exhibitions, live model drawing sessions, craft fairs and more. You can also support them by attending their upcoming events or contacting them about renting space for one of yours. I love the 1901. Thank you guys for all of the opportunities you have shared with me these past few years. Suck it!
I figure by mid-January, it will be cold enough, so I'll be heading to sunny Los Angeles for about a week and a half! I love L.A. and have been missing it terribly since the last time I visited in 2008. It's high time that I got back and made my L.A. burlesque debut, no? I'll be performing January 23rd at 3 Clubs for Monday Night Tease, and I have several other gigs pending and yet to be announced. More information coming soon!
In closing, I'd like to thank all of my burlesque family and my friends and fans for being so supportive, caring and inspirational to me throughout the past year. You all have provided me with so many wonderful challenges, opportunities and collaborations this year that it nearly made my heart burst. Let's continue and grow into 2012 and beyond, shall we? I love you all so very much!
A huge special thanks to my Suadela Intimates partner in crime, Sauda, for her help beautifying this site and getting it up and running! Not to mention feeding me, listening to me bitch, putting up with my nagging, indulging my craziest artistic whims and being a pillar of support. Thank you for being a friend!
Ta for now, y'all! Be safe, have fun, and I'll see you next year!

You are like an angel out of the badlands of paradise.
I ambled into your path and I was thrown like rice.
Now, I simply try to
detach
from the gaps in conversation,
the subtly shifting spaces in your breathing
when I'm touching you and you
fly away into some cold memory.
I am struggling not to care for you
in the crazy, reckless way that I do.
Put it this way —
No.
Let me paint you a picture.
It was warm that day and the water was low
and we entered that quaint old cafe.
And the matronly patrons all gawked as we
flocked to a window table on glad wings.
You told me sad things, and whispered your dreams.
And they despised us for the way that we laughed,
and just as much for when we were silent.
We were two beautiful, tousled heads of hair
with dozens of cackling, shimmering teeth:
cool with cucumber water and the reluctance to love,
but the inability to avoid it.
(We lacked the tools to destroy it.)
I need I need I need,
A helmet A tourniquet I need,
To love you, You cut into me, Need to want
girl. girl. this girl, and
I do
want to be inside of that beautiful brain
(but I fear you.)
I've been captured, I'm on the wrong end of the rapture.
You bite into the parts of my history that are bitter.
The taste is unnatural, but
unmistakable and you quake a bit,
then it subsides. And we ride.
Ride past the stupid shit that I said last night,
past the severed, talking heads of this
cerulean nation of dead end conversation.
(Creation never seemed so barren.)
You are so Paidia.
Immature handmaiden with
god-knows-what lying underneath.
You are so Paidia
beautiful, killer handmaiden
with violet eyes that stunt
the way I breathe.
Put it this way —
No.
Let me paint you a picture.
It was warm that day,
you placed your arms over your face as you
wheezed in the obtrusive sky.
And the water,
the water, it grew high.
Every bubble of the brine
harbored a goodbye.
Every wave hissed an elegy for the way that you fucked me
and an ominous whisper about the
way you might miss me
had you ever even kissed me
and meant it at all.
Put it this way:
It was cool that day
and I welcomed,
I welcomed the Fall.

Life is beyond bizarre.
I'm wrapped up in a million things right now, but in general, things finally feel right.
And that's a good feeling. One that I've been waiting quite a while for.
I'm happy to be super in love with an awesome person and pursuing my career goals actively. Things could be a lot worse.
I've also gotten into this great habit lately of trying to surround myself with the right types of people. No more users. I just can't do it. I owe it to myself to leave that shit alone. I've got more important things to do.
I keep busy these days - really busy. I'm even more goal-driven than ever before. Huge and exciting things are happening, and I can't wait to share them with you bitches! I'll put it this way: You're going to be seeing a lot more of me. I'll leave it at that.

I'm sorry for all the negative blogging lately. Life has been a roller coaster lately, but I'm in a better place now.
Sometimes change hurts, but it isn't always a bad thing. Things often have to get worse before they get better, and positive change comes at a cost much of the time.
The fact of the matter is that at this moment in time, the good outweighs the bad. I am employed, I'm performing, traveling, teaching and learning constantly. My three year anniversary is approaching, and I couldn't be more smitten with my partner. I've made a bunch of new friends and have grown so much in the past few months. My career is evolving and I'm the complex but enthralling process of gaining national exposure. I am really proud of the work that I'm doing and thrilled at the opportunity to educate others in the art of burlesque.
I've decided to purge all of the things that have been holding me back. Sometimes you can't save people. Sometimes you have to pass up on opportunities to make way for future ones. Some friendships, relationships, jobs, gigs, adventures and endeavors are just not meant to come to fruition or just aren't supposed to last.
One thing that I do know is that whoever I meet and whatever I do, everything I experience and each person who crosses my path in life teaches me a lesson that I can grow from. For that, no matter what happens, each and everyone one of you will always maintain a place in my heart.
Thank you.
