* I am really, really scared of tomorrow...
Simply put, since I have been working in my current job the local workplace bully has been targetting me. I have just had enough. Despite being promoted in the last few months and more encouragement re. upcoming positions from the bosses, I am thinking it just isn't worth it anymore. I am sick of constantly watching my back whenever this person is around and having to prove myself over and over again after he has told his bullshit tales to new people and completely misled them about my character. He is known for this sort of behaviour and has a very bad reputation. I think I have to make a full report to the number one boss...and also tell them I am seeking alternative employment. I can't and don't want to quit, I find job interviews nearly impossible to do...but some positions have come up in a nearby council and I will be applying for them. It will mean a pay decrease, just as I have had my pay increased in my current work coupled with feedback about more regular hours e.g. a contract. But fighting against this sort of bullshit is just not fucking worth it:

"There's some mistakes in your furnishing (*fancy talk for fitting an item with security devices*) but don't worry, I'll fix them"
*I wander over to the pile of items and discover that IT WASN'T ME WHO FURNISHED THEM (you have to initial the part of the processes that you have completed).
This means that I have to loudly point this out to the fuckhead, so that people will not think that I am forever making mistakes with simple procedures. Therefore I have to engage in this wanker's game playing to a certain degree, because if I don't defend myself I'll look bad. This sort of shit is constant!!

Wish me luck in starting at the bottom...again frown

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Political plays like that are very hard to deal with. Network with the people around him - get onside with them so that he ends up looking like an imbecile - "surround and conquer" (Go to the boss as a last resort if that doesn't work, but if he is popular it probably won't work).

Sometimes it's best to stand and fight, but you're right - some things aren't worth it.

Sorry to hear about your work troubles, being happy in your workplace is much better than getting more money, the said thing is that your letting another persons troubles get to you, its not your fault and you should not have to deal with that, i recently posted an angry blog on BME about the dislike of my job which really is in some of the customers you have to deal with, Hope you can work something out.

Ha ha ha, bit slow on the orgies of late but still meeting beautiful women smile I've had to dive back into the ordinary world for a while to get myself enrolled at uni etc, and a little greyness has rubbed off on me... haven't posted in a while as I've been busy and also the site itself seems really dull nowdays except for the occasional post from some interesting people such as yourself. Anyway, I may dust off my typing finger soon.

Why don't you all form a group and complain in tandem? That should work unless he's the boss's son!

Surges of rage - that sounds really healthy to me. Do you think of yourself as assertive? Anger is a natural reaction to most unfairness - I remember my wild bursts of temper when I started standing up for myself (something I really had to force myself to do in my 20's) and they were exactly as you described - and as I got more and more used to doing so the rage diminished.

Like PIL said, "anger is an energy".

So how has work been ? have you figured out any stratagies to deal with ya nasty co-worker, i have had to deal with similar situations myself but lucky for me the worker involved decided to leave when he saw people were getting wise to his shit.
Besides the drama do you like your current position-you havnt been there that long huh-if you did move on would stay in the Library system or would you go for an entirely different career
What have you got planned for your weekend,im working all the way thru till next thur.so my weekend is gonna be excitement plus
Take care hon & hope to talk to you soon x biggrin

I am so sorry you have to deal with that bullshit. I don't really have any advice to offer I am afraid, except that I agree it isn't worth it. I hope things work themselves out for you real soon. kiss
