Well, it's been about a week since I've been on SG. Freaking hurricane Sandy blew into my state and whooped the shit out of us!

I've been without power since about six hours before the hurricane made landfall. Thank god I already had a generator and we have a gas stove and water heater, otherwise this week would've sucked even more. A tree fell over and took out our cable and internet within the first few hours of the storm, so I figured "what the hell, I'll call now and get my name on the list." Verizon said we won't see them until November 8th - well they showed yesterday, and we still don't have electric!!! Good thing my generator has enough juice to power the tv and cable box too, lol. The power company says we'll be lucky if we get electric by next Wednesday. Ugh!!! And it ain't gettin any warmer out, so I spent some time this afternoon chopping up firewood for the fireplace that we never use - hope the chimney is clear.


I think the most annoying part of this ordeal was sitting in line for three hours yesterday just to get gas for the generator.


Honestly though, I shouldn't complain too much, at least there was no damage to my house. Towns 30 minutes east of me have been wiped right off the map - towns I visit, hang out in, have friends in, this really sucks.


Btw, I'm made a Rorschach mask for Halloween - which the governor postponed until November 5th. At least I got to wear it (and freak everyone out) for one Halloween party

Good Morning SG Land!

The new semester started 3 weeks ago, I've been soooo busy I barely have enough time for SG!!!

I'm taking 15 credits - 4 classes (2 that meet twice a week) and 1 lab. This is going to be another tough semester... Calc 2, Physics 2, Engineering Mechanics: Statics, Maya 1: 3d Modelling. I feel like I don't even have time for my homework!

Saturday was my younger brother's bachelor party... holy shit!

So we all meet up in Atlantic City, I walk into the hotel room and find the best man smoking up. I figure "Hey, it's been a while, why not?", and join him. Well, problem is that he's a tattoo artist / weed connoisseur and smokes the good shit, and I haven't gotten high in just over 5 years... yeah, the next three hours go by in five minutes for me (apparently I paid for everyone's meal at Hooters and kept saying "BITCHES, COME!" when I needed another beer). I make it back to the hotel to get more beer, and at some point I black out until midnight.

I wake up, realize I missed half the party and meet up with everyone at the strip club. We pool our money together (200 bucks) to get my brother the "Bachelor Party Special" which involves the stage, four strippers, belts, chairs... need I go on? We get everything set up, and they call my brother to the stage. He never shows. When he drinks he likes to wander and not tell anyone. We got our money back in trade and then went to find him.

Two hours later we find him a half a mile away walking down Pacific Ave with a beer in his hands - how he didn't get robbed / arrested / raped is beyond me.

Then I get a phone call from the Tropicana. The best man and his friend got arrested by the Trop's rent-a-cops while on the casino floor. I still don't know what they really did, there was a lot of finger pointing and "mother-fucking" going on, lol.

By the time we got them out it's 4am. Time for beer pong! Now, I don't know how long we played or at what point I feel asleep, but we all passed out and security had to kick us out of the room because we all slept about 3 hours past check out time.

It's been a long time since I partied that hard, man it felt good. Peace out!

Man, talk about quadruple booking myself this weekend!

This morning me and my fiance' are doing a walk for diabetes. Then after that we have to haul ass 80 miles south to my parents house for a birthday party.

Then tomorrow we have a Yankees game in Brooklyn at 1pm, and at 7:30 we have to be in Philadelphia for a Bruce Springsteen concert!

That's almost 400 miles driving in two days, good thing I just changed my oil!

Can't wait to see Bruce tomorrow night. This will be my fifth time, and we have amazing tickets!

Hello!!!

Leaving for Gen Con Indy tomorrow!!! If you don't know, it's the biggest four days in gaming, ever. I'm talkin any kind of game - DnD, video games, Magic the Gathering, LARPs, board games, minis, role playing... if it's a game, it's played there at some point.

So I'm trying to pull an all nighter tonight... haven't done one of those in 6 or 7 years, not since I was an EMT. The convention starts Thursday, but we're driving out there Tuesday night at around 9. It's a 12 hour drive, so with any luck we'll be there Wednesday morning to check into the hotel. For the first time, GenCon is coinciding with the Indiana State Fair, so we're gonna hit that up - I've heard a lot of good things about that one... except for the concert stage falling over last year and killing people. Anyways. Yeah, trying to stay up, lol. SG is always good for that.

I know there's a lot of geeks on here, anyone going to GenCon this year?

Good morning... for some reason I'm up three hours early today. I blame my allergies. I'm just glad I went to bed earlier than usual - me and the lil lady made a deal that we'll both go to bed earlier / together. I usually stay up until 2, she stays up until 3. Staying up that late for me isn't good cause I always wake up at the same time anyway (except for days like today, lol).

I have a confession to make - I've been angry lately. IDK what it is, but it just seems like damn near everything sets me off. It's wierd, because I acknowledge that I've had a short temper, but I can't seem to help it. I never get mad at Jo (fiance), never have a reason to, and she always calms me down.

Maybe we just need to get out on our own, that's been at the forefront of both of our minds. And by on our own I mean away from her parents. A little over two years ago Jo wanted to go back to school for her master's... her parents said if she went back to Rutgers we could leave our apartment in Philly and move in free of charge while she was in school - great! Then two months later I get laid off; they convinced me to go back to school and now I'm a year from my BS in engineering. Well she just got her degree and her parents said we can stay until I get mine, but I don't really know if I can wait that long. Don't get me wrong, I love her parents and am eternally grateful for all they've done... but I'm 31!!! I want the house and kids already!!!

Meh, guess I just gotta stick it out... don't look a gift horse in the mouth and all that jazz, huh?

Ach! Woke up waaaaay too early with an asthma attack. Of course the inhaler makes your heart race so I'm not exactly tired right now...

Had my fiance's graduation party this weekend. She got her master's in environmental science, so that's good. I did all the cooking, and got a few offers to cater other people's parties, lol. I'm an engineering student, and I can cook - but people are constantly telling me to open a restaurant! Anyways, after I was done with the cooking, I took it upon myself to work on the keg... I mean why not, it was a party that I hosted at our house, and I bought the keg I put a damn hurtin on that keg though, I woke up 8 hours after I passed out and was still drunk! I'd call that a good night, wouldn't you?

Maybe I'll try and go back to sleep now...
