I have hear a lot of arguement against Sarah Palin, John McCain's running partner in the upcoming election, but I have yet to hear anything good about her so I decided to talk about the issues about her and give my opinion. I am not here to change people's mind or insult anyone, but if I offend anyone who reads this I am not sorry and I honestly do not care because I can not change your point of view if I even wanted to. That being said lets start with the issues.
The first issue is a personal one to me, the Iraq War. No she does not have that much experience in this issue but John McCain has plenty to make up for her short comings. So I will go over John McCain's views on the Iraq War because more than likely she will take his views anyways. John McCain believes that stability in Iraq is paramount to keeping the country from returning to chaos and becoming a sanctuary for terrorists. I believe this as well no matter how much I hate Iraq and pray I never have to come back to this hell on earth, but if I have to stay here a little longer so I don't have to ever come back here I will gladly stay. Iraqi forces need to become strong and able to defend there own country before we leave or else we will have a brand new war in Iraq all over again with more casulaties. The biggest thing you need to think about is there are people in this country just like in America that want nothing to do with war and terrorism, all they want is normal lives where they don't have to worry about being shot or blown up or killed because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. A little piece of knowledge from Iraq, every male in Iraq carries an AK-47 everywhere with them for there own personal protection. So no matter how much you hate them, no matter how much you want them dead remember you dont have to carry an assault rifle with you just to go to the grocery store.
The next issue is a touchy one for a lot of people, abortion & stem cell research. Sarah Palin believes that abortion is wrong and every woman should have a baby if pregnant & is opposed to stem cell research. My view is completely the opposite. Abortion is completely up to the woman, but there should be a sense of responsibility there, a woman should never decide abortion without any hesitation or thought otherwise. I firmly believe that your actions bring consequences but I was also raised to believe in choice, so not matter how much I think someone was stupid for not using protection and should be force to keep the baby it is not for me to choose for them, that is a basic human right. Stem cell research to me is one of the most important scientific studies because with stem cell research we can potentially help or prevent degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease. Cirrhosis is another major problem that stem cells could help fix, but then again I think that if your liver is eroding away because you are an alcoholic you should not receive help because it is your fault you have to deal with the consequences because that was your choice and now the only reason you stopped or started seeking help is because your life is in danger. Also whenever people think of stem cells they always think fetus which is not true, scientists actually use adult stem cells as well. Although embryonic stem cells have different properties adult stem cells are still extremely useful in fighting disease.
Now we get to talk about gun control. Sarah Palin believes that we all have the right to bear arms, she is a lifelong member of the NRA, which ok some of them are a little out there and out of their minds but they have a good outlook on weapons. Sarah Palin is also a hunter, I have no problem with hunters as long as they eat their kills and not just cut the antlers off and hang them on the wall. So this is going to cause a rather large problem with PETA but I have to say it FUCK PETA. Time to explain myself, I am completely against cruelity toward animals and mistreatment of animals. I am also against fur just because it looks really stupid and I would rather freeze than wear it. I say this about PETA because if you have a belief or a opinion voice them but do not try to force them onto others, I have had to many people try and tell me, while I am eating, how bad meat is for you or how my belt used to be an animal and how much of a horrid person I am. I could never be a vegetarian for the sole reason that I don't get to make my own meals out here.
Next is the civil rights, Sarah Palin is against gay marriage, against spouse benefits for same sex couples, and preserving the definition is one of her top priorities. I agree that gay marriage should be outlawed because I am a firm believer that marriage is between a man and a woman. Same sex marriage underminds the symbol of marriage and the commitment it means for heterosexual people. I disagree with her on spouse benefits for same sex couples, if you wanna be domestic partners with the same marriage benefits that heterosexual people get then by all means go for it but do not call it marriage.
Sarah Palin feels that crime in America is lacking on the number of law enforcement personal and wants to beef up our police forces. I say go for it as long as it doesnt raise taxes because I dont know about all of you guys but I pay way to much in taxes each year for my taste. She also feels that special hate crime laws should not exist because all heinous crimes are hate-based. I completely agree with her on this because just because you assault a person of another race does not make it a hate crime. Also the law in short excludes white people from hate crimes so if a white person assaults another race thats a hate crime but if you reverse that then its not a hate crime even though it could be racially motivated.
Well I think that is enough ranting for one blog. Feels good go write down my thoughts should really start doing this more often. Well tell me what you think.
