In the event of a zombie apocalypse, I've decided a wooden baseball bat will be my weapon of choice. Obviously, a gun would be nice. However, not only do I not currently own one, but I have limited gun knowledge, not enough to feel completely comfortable and confident in my ability to shoot. Plus, there's the obvious problem of ammo: both maintaining a supply and hauling it. My baseball bat is readily available, plus it's a junior size so a lady like myself can easily maintain control.

A major concern I have in the what if scenario of a zombie apocalypse is what to do with my dog. A prissy, 10lb pomeranian will make no contributions to survival, but he's my best friend and means the world to me. He's incapable of fending for himself, so I couldn't leave him behind. Perhaps I could carry him around in one of those dog carrier back packs and hopefully he would bark when there's a zombie behind me.

Sometimes I wonder why the hell I think about pointless stuff like this.

The question is: Maple or aluminum? Carbon fiber composite as an option should be dismissed out of hand due to the fact that once the integrity of the bat is compromised (due to de-lamination or cracking for instance) it becomes all but un-usable. Wood, I would think, would tend to splinter upon contact with broken bones and teeth that all zombies eventually develop, but a good maple bat should still last years, perhaps decades. With aluminum you really only have to worry about dents and, when the dents become bad enough, bending. But, you shouldn't lose enough material to decrease the weight (like you may with a splintered maple bat) so you should still be able to develop enough inertia on year 10 of the apocalypse that you had in year one.

Why indeed...

i think of pointless stuff like that daily and the best perk of wood vs aluminum is a wooden bat u can hammer giant nails through it changing it from a strickly bludging tool to a stabing action making it easyier for a person with less swing power to still inflict massive damage and if u are goina go with a bat make sure to get a gas mask and goggles cause the blood splater is goina be intense and vombie blood is infectious and eyes and mouth are very prown areas!!!skull
