I'll be at Comic Con in San Diego July 23rd-26th and it's going to be amazing!!!

You probably already saw the Comic Con Preview Special with Blair Butler and myself in which we actually got to sit in... the chair. It was fun, but there's so much more!

zoom image

Pictures always tell a much better story, so here's what you need to know... I'll be a part of G4TV's Live coverage of Comic Con on Thursday and Friday -- three hours of LIVE coverage direct from the floor...

zoom image

And you'll see me in the opening sketch as well as a sketch with Kevin and Olivia about the X-Files... and I actually, um, act. At some point, I even wet myself.
zoom image

Oh, and here's a party you can't go to... I'll have trouble getting in!
zoom image

On Saturday there's an Attack of the Show panel that promises surprises that will blow you away... Also, after the coverage ends, you can come by the G4 Booth on Sunday at 1 PM to enter a movie trivia contest.

zoom image

You can win a bunch of cool swag as well as a chance to compete in a GIANT competition playing for an amazing prize -- an authentic prop replica Iron Man mask! Yeah, it'll be a lot of fun.

And here's info about a party on Saturday night for the very adventurous -- Freaks Night Out -- Look for the lovely Alice and I there along with many of my favorite Suicide Girls, so you won't want to miss it.

And now, Comic Kaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahn! Victorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry!

Your Pal,
Chris Gore

P.S. If you can't find me, well, just look down and you'll see me wearing my custom DK shoes... sweet!

Me talk funny with my clothes on...

It's strange, but in the last year I've appeared in several documentaries. One called American Stag about vintage porn, Gross Out about the rise of vulgar comedies (airing on Starz in August) and another one called Sticky which is a serious look at masturbation, tempered with humor, of course.

Don't ask me why I keep getting asked to do interviews for documentaries, I have no idea. The conversation usually starts with a random phone call from documentary producer who says, "Would you like to be in our documentary?"

And then I say, "Sure, how much does it pay?"

"Nothing."

Pause.

"Nothing?"

"Yeah, nothing."

Long pause.

"Sure."

So, I guess I've become the go-to guy to provide commentary on... well, mostly movies and porn. Which is good... because I really, really like both of those things.

Awhile back I did an interview for (and inadvertently popped up because I kept running into these guys) a film called Official Rejection. This doc directed by Paul Osborne follows filmmaker Scott Storm, whose brilliant indie Ten 'Til Noon was rejected from all the major festivals, as he journeys to smaller fests from Phoenix to Chicago to San Francisco to San Diego. And from what I've seen, the result is brutally honest and hysterical... and then kind of sad... but then it gets funny again! I also think that my presence barely ruins the movie. Barely. (I can't stand to watch myself on TV... or even watch myself for that matter.)

Anyway, here's the teaser trailer for your amusement... but not mine, that's for sure. blush

I could really use some help making mods...

I'm looking for the XBox 360 battery backs that come with the controllers - most people throw them away when they get the 360 rechargeable batteries since, well, you don't need them anymore.
I don't know exactly who to ask (hello Microsoft? Game Stop?) so I thought I'd post here. Here's a picture:zoom image

If you have any you can spare, any color, please send them to me at this address:
Chris Gore
c/o Film Threat
5042 Wilshire Blvd., PMB 1500
Los Angeles, CA 90036

I use them to make mods for like the cowbell and tambourine controllers. See_

If you're interested in any of these mods, let me know.

And if there's a favor I can do for you... just ask.
Thanks!

I made Dark Knight shoes...

zoom image
1 can black spray paint + 1 can silver spray paint + 1 Batman logo/pattern cut from cardboard + 1 pair old Converse = Limited Edition One-of-a-Kind Custom Bat-shoes (1 of 1).

zoom image
Cost me about $8 since I've had this pair of Converse for about 10 years. And I have plenty of paint leftover to make more.

As a dirt poor punk growing up in Detroit, I used to make t-shirts, clothes, mods for my car, etc... when I couldn't afford anything. Sure, you can spend $40 for a Johnny Cupcakes t-shirt.

Or you can make something from nothing.

Which is always more satisfying. biggrin

Do you have a Bat-Boner?

Because I do. Everything about The Dark Knight looks amazing. And if you've read comics like Batman: Year One by Frank Miller or The Killing Joke by Alan Moore, you know just how dark Batman can get.

I'll be picking up tickets for the midnight screening in Los Angeles at the Arclight which will also be screening Batman Begins at 9 PM before. I hope to see some friendly folks from SG there.

If you really want to go Batty, you may want to check out the fake news reports from
the Gotham Tonight web site, there's a viral game called Laugh 'Til It Hurts,
you can vote in Gotham's election here, there's a promotion with Hershey's for chocolate lovers, a direct-to-DVD anime called Batman Gotham Knight, and plenty more on the official site.

Oh, and you can even become friends with Bruce on myspace. And I don't have a wishlist, but if I did, this would be on it.

Here's a few more Dark Knight TV trailer spots which are likely to produce multiple nerdgasms if you're not careful... or Bat-gasms if you prefer.

I wrote a story for Playboy...

So on my recent visit to the Playboy Mansion, I ran into an old friend from the festival scene who now works for the magazine. After chatting a bit, he asked me to write a piece for the Playboy web site. For anyone who enjoyed my column Footage Fetishes here on SG, I think you'll dig it.

zoom image

As you can see, the piece is titled Fatal Attraction: Ten Drop Dead Gorgeous Girls of Horror and you should check it out.

I'm not only proud of the fact that I can add Playboy to my resume of the media outlets I've written for, I was able to address the idea that the Scream Queen as we've known it, is dead. Now women are no longer victims in horror films, they are the ones kicking ass.

Hope you take the time to give it a read.biggrin

Thanks.
Chris
