Star Wars is really dead... right?

These pics and this poster just came out today promoting Star Wars: The Clone Wars which comes to theaters in August 15th... take a look.

The trailer for Star Wars: The Clone Wars will debut on Thursday, May 8th for the upcoming CG-animated movie. Here's the description from the studio press release: Pinned down by the enemy, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Captain Rex prepare for battle in a scene from the upcoming Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the first-ever animated Star Wars project from Lucasfilm Animation.

I have to say, I'm underwhelmed. For the first time since I can remember, I'm just not excited about anything Star Wars. I think I growed up or something. I just was hoping they'd make the third trilogy in what George Lucas originally said was going to be a nine-part film series. In fact, it would be even better if George wasn't making them.

i've seen that trailer!

it might be the most boring and embarrassing thing i've seen in a while. cheap videogame cut scenes look better.

Well, I have my own favorite quote. It was right after I saw Star Wars Episode I, which most agree was crap, but had some really good stuff too like Darth Maul. I remarked to a friend--
Seeing Episode I was like having really good sex for the very first time... but your mom is watching. Which makes it both a pleasurable yet really bad experience simultaneously.

I would have liked to. I spent today in Westlake with the boyfriends parents (without said boyfriend) and a few other 70 year old women. Reeking of booze probably wouldn't have been a good idea
