Welcome to America, where EVERYONE has an opinion. If someone's opinion differs from yours, they are automatically wrong....no not really but it seems like that when you look at news articles and message boards. i don't post much on politics, but the most recent discussions on gun control, second amendment, firearms rights, etc. is just aggravating. I'm willing to listen to your side if your willing to listen to mine.

"Guns are evil.",They aren’t. They are tools; inanimate objects that are neither good nor evil. Only human activity is good or bad. And banning guns does not get rid of evil people.

"Only law enforcement and the military should have guns.", That’s what happens in dictatorships. It's a sombre thought that far more people were killed in the 20th century by their own governments, than in wars with other countries. Genocide is virtually always preceded by strict gun control. And soldiers and policemen run amok occasionally too.

Questions for you:
Why do mass killings typically occur in gun free zones?

Why are more school children killed in cities where Progressive gun controls are in place and where their social policies dominate the culture?

Why do Progressives ignore the slaughter of innocent children on Chicago’s south side but respond with alarm and inflammatory partisan rhetoric when the horror strikes in white, middle-class America?

Do you think it is appropriate to punish large numbers of people who have committed no crime, for the acts of a madman?

Meth, cocaine, and marijuana are illegal, but people still use them. How effective is the ban on illegal narcotics?

Feb. 14, St. Valentine's day is the christian indoctrination of the pagan holiday Lupercalia in which the party revelers would dress in the skins of sacrificed goats and dogs and run around town with whips. who says sadomasochists dont have fun holidays?

in tonight's guided tour of my mind i'd like to discuss the idea of and the concept of the tech involved in the movies Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Paycheck . in the sense of how useful tech like that would be in erasing experiences that cause nightmares, or PTSD. or if the tech could be reversed to correct diseases like Alzheimers, or used as a tool to speed up education or training. but this is all hypothetical speculation since the tech is all fictional, so i digress.

speaking of memory related issues, its interesting how the mind works. a song, a smell, or a taste can bring forth memories. like anise cookies always remind me of christmas when i was a child. certain songs remind me of times and places like

reminds me of the time i lived in texas and every saturday me and my stripper girlfriend would kill time downtown in junk shops and music stores then head to some shitty little coffee shop for lunch and clove cigarettes, so 90's right? but i cant remember the name of the first girl i kissed or had sex with for that matter, but i can tell you what she looked like and how it happened and that she smelled like coco butter and vanilla.
but that seems to be the case with most of my experiences.

here is some music.

the way my mind functions is directly related to the way i was raised. you see i am an only child. i grew up during the peak of the cold war, in a military family. between my birth and my 28th birthday the longest i ever lived in one place was 2 years. this lifestyle was great for learning about the world but not so much in forming meaningful relationships. i cant remember the names or faces of the people i went to school with. but, i can remember most of the books, movies and songs from then. of course i remember a time before the internet and P2P file sharing and my exposure to new music came from the kids in the area i was living in, MTV, and pen-pal mix-tape clubs (clubs where you would make 10 copies of the same tape, tapes were before CDs, and send them to people on the list and in return you would get 10 new tapes of music). music, movies and books were my only constant friends and thats the reason my mind functions on random quotes, and trivia.

I would say any behavior that is not the status quo is interpreted as insanity, when, in fact, it might actually be enlightenment. Insanity is sorta in the eye of the beholder.

It's funny how you never think about the women you've had. It's always the ones who get away that you can't forget.

If death meant just leaving the stage long enough to change costume and come back as a new character, would you slow down? Or speed up?

that concludes todays tour through my brain, check back tomorrow, for more or less depending on my train of thought i might entirely disappear like Descartes, or take on god while tilting at windmills...
