A week's worth of slacking has caught up to me. I'm now staying late at work cramming to make 2 deadlines at the end of the week. I did sneak away to get a new toy for my guitar today, though.

I prefer stompboxes into my amp, but I need a quiet ampless solution to play guitar for the Marvelous Wonderettes show at the local theater. Plus it's a paying gig, so, why not?
Lastly, here's a picture of me. I clicked the mouse with my penis to take it.

My in-laws bought a new plasma TV today. I got their old HDTV. A Hitachi 43" rear projection 1080p. It's pretty old, but sweet! Especially compared to our old Sony tube with broken speakers.
I've been playing XBox360 games all day, and qeued up some Firefly episodes on my Netflix. I watched the Pilot episode. Aparantly, itwas the last one aired by Fox when this show was in first run. I remember reading there were problems with the order of episodes. I discovered Firefly much later. Anyway, I love the show and movie. Old news, but still good to me.

Here's our new TV. It looks funny on our stand.

Tonight also included a lite night Dennys run and a visiit to Wal-Mart. I'm so glad my wife actually hates that place. But it is fun to shop aimlessly at midnight. Still looking for a 2nd DVD rack, they seem to have stopped carrying dvd racks at Wal Mart.
And here's me at 3AM tired out of my mind!

God I miss this site. I just wish I had more time for things like this. Kudos to all you who are so involved on SG. It takes work! I'm off to lurk a little. I've managed to find a little time at work to browse LOL. I would post a pic, but I have a cold, I feel like crap, and I haven't shaved in days. Scruffy is not my best look. What the hell. Here's me feeling blaghh!

Note the scruff. Yuck.

Wrinkles were added in Photoshop to make me look older and wiser.
See you soon!

Good grief! I practically forgot I had a membership! We only recently renewed SG, and renewed World of Warcraft around the same time. AND I started playing guitar ata couple of blues jams around the same time. Needless to say, I haven't left myself much time for SG and other forum sites.
Tonight, we had a little sushi and game night (XBox 360) with a pal, We played Left for Dead 2, Castle Crashers, a little Bioshock, and a little Trials HD.
After he took off, Marcy and I WoW'ed most of the late night while watching Lord of the Rings, (Fellowship). That movie is soooo great. But, if you ever decide you have to see it, and you look at the clock and it's midnight, better clear your schedule for the following day. I'm beat. dead tired, and I promised MarcyBeth a back rub before bed. She's gonna be so pissed if she comes to bed and I'm already asleep. She's still leveling her Warlock. Gotta love those timed quests to keep you logged in an extra 45 minutes!

I'm going to try to name all the movies I've seen this week:
Kick Ass
Hot Tub Time Machine
Friday the 13th (2009)
The Others
Rob Zombie presents: the Haunted World of El Superbeasto
Extreme Movie
Women In Trouble
I hope They Serve Beer In Hell
I can't remember what we watched last weekend, but it was probably quite a few.
That's all I can remember right now, but there's another night that we watched stuff. Still, add big brother, and a lie to me dvr mini marathon and that's a lot of tv!!

I actually went into a comic shop last week for the first time this summer. I picked up Y - The Last Man Vol. 1 to read while my wife was doing a looong tattoo sitting. It was pretty awesome. I'll probably continue reading it.

Here's Marcy's tattoo just about finished. Background is next month.

I also asked for a recommendation for someone like me who's never read any Thor, and who doesn't want to be out of the loop when the movie comes out; the clerk GAVE me this:

So that was pretty cool. I didn't love it, but it was interesting. No action. Just a long dream issue. Then he ends up in the dessert at a roadside motel out of the blue.
Monday I went to a blues jam with a friend of mine, and sat in for a few songs. That was weird. I just haven't played guitar in a live setting in a long time. Knowing most people at a bar don't give a crap about the music helps get through the jitters. Also, we drank a lot of beer before we played.
Thursday, we went to another bar that is having blues jam cuttin heads guitar competitions every other week. We played 12 bar blues in various formats and tried to outdo each other for three solos each on three songs. I "battled" three times. Won once. It was fun. I'll go back and do that again. I played like shit. totally choked. I was missing notes, couldn't pick the right strings, and didn't play anything like I normally play. That's the beauty of playing live. You have to do it a bunch to get comfortable with it. You may play great at home practicing, but try any of that Paul Gilbert stuff at a blues bar, and you'll fall on your face. Maybe next time. I'll be going to as many open jams as I can to get the live experience back up to speed.
I didn't get any pictures of the blues jam(s) but here's my pedalboard. The white pedal is a Zendrive clone that kicks major ass. I built it for a friend, and the time has come to give it to him. I"m sad to see it go. It's the best one I've built. Hopefully, with the money he's paying me, I can build one for myself.

That about catches me up for the past week.

After a week and a half of playing guitar for Footloose: The Musical, the show comes to an end tomorrow. It's been very interesting playing in a theater orchestra. Rewarding, challenging, and fun. Plus, I get paid. I hope to do a bunch more there in the future.
Here's a pic of me playing.

I went guitar shopping today. I've been obsessed with Gretsch hollow body guitars lately, so I went down to play a few, and make up my mind. Ultimately, I intend t get a strat, but I've been wondering lately if I should put that off, and get a hollow body. If so, this is the one I want...

After playing it a bit, I decided that it just sounds too different from my preferences, and I'll get a strat first, and a hollow body further down the road. I played an American Deluxe to side by side compare them...

That's still down the road a ways for me, but at least I can stop obsessing over a Gretsch for now.
One more Footloose show tomorrow, then I'm free!! Well, sort of free. There's still plenty to do, and I've put some things off for the show.
Funny, I intended to sit and blog about how much I liked Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, for xBox 360. But a usual, I was distracted by guitars, Mayebe next time.

Well, we rejoined SG, (my wife MarcyBeth and I). We've both been a little frustrated and disconnected from people with similar interests. I used to get frustrated with all the strong opinions I disagree with on this site, but I forget there's so many people that get excited with you whenever there's something cool going on.
So, I'm glad to be back on the site. I'm glad that my wife and I can make cool blog posts again, I can look at all the girls again, glad that I can share pics, posts, and topics with some pretty cool people.
So some recent news:
We got an XBox 360 last week. We're pretty happy to have a modern gaming device. We played Left 4 Dead 2 quite a bit the past couple of days. Also, Soul Calibur IV, Bioshock, and Marcy's been playing Elder Scrolls: Oblivion a bit too.
I've been building guitar pedals for my pedalboard quite a bit this year. I've done 5 for myself, and I'm doing one for a friend soon.
I'm playing guitar for "Footloose: The musical" at the local theater. That's been very fun; I've never played professionally before, and it's nice to brush up on my music reading, have a paying gig, and just plain play the guitar in front of people. It's awesome. I hope I get to do more in the near future.
I got a new cat last November. Bigsby was a stray. we took him to try to find him a home. He loves me. We kept him. This was all reported in Marcy's blog earlier this year. But he's still a new development for me.
My kids had their summer visit last month. It went by too fast. I learned how to play Pokemon cause Perry's friends are playing and he doesn't know how to play. He totally kicks butt now.
We're planning our thanksgiving trip with them. We have a cabin booked in north Georgia a few hours from their house. So we won't have to spend the whole holiday driving back and forth between Atlanta and Ocala.
Marcy got a new tattoo. Its sooo freaking prett and quite sexy. She goes back for color in a few weeks. You can see it at her blog MarcyBeth.
Also, I started biking and watching what I eat this year. I'm not real consistent with either, but it's a step in the right direction.
And finally, Star Craft 2 came out today. I don't have it yet, it will probably be a while before I truly need it to go on living. But I'm soooooo happy that it's out anyway. So that some day, I can dedicate hours of my life to playing it. But not now. I'm too busy with everything else going on.
Okay, that's all I can think of right now. Glad to be back!

I haven't drawn anything all year. I had a great time coloring with the kids, I took over their art set and tested out their new markers on a cool Iron Man coloring book. It came out awesome, I want to frame it. Maybe I'll scan it soon.
I did come across a file I made last year testing out Manga Studio EX. I imported a few pics, and spend a few hours trying out my pen tablet and the toolset in Manga Studio. I still don't know how to use it, but I just reinstalled it. Here's the (preliminary) result. Apparently you can do some neat (what else?) manga style coloring in it. hope I get some time to figure it out. And now that I'm back on SG, I'm sure I'll start drawing again soon.

I've been contemplating reactivating my SG account for a while.
I recently visited my hometown, Atlanta, got a little taste of sub-culture/hipster life. When I got home (now, Ocala, FL) I realized, I don't have a lot of friends that are into the same things I am. Comics, Movies, Cartoons, Anime, (which leads to Hentai, and I'm not going to discuss that with any of my friends. I just won't) and some other things. My friends and I connect on some things, but not all the childish geeky things that make me ME.
anyway, I've been really thinking about coming back to Suicide Girls. Seriously, I was like maybe a DAY away from signing back up here. and today, I get an email that someone reactivated my account for me.
SO, who is my benefactorrrrrrr??????
many thanks. drop me a line.
