Can anyone take a halfway-reasoned guess as to why someone would try to steal a 1995 Jeep Cherokee with 211,893 miles on it? Because all I have is that my would-be car thief just saw it sitting there and thought it would be easy pickings.
Finally, I have friends that are halfway reliable to hang out with!
And who, you might ask?
None other than the lovely, wonderful, and talented Mantis and her boyfriend! (Hey. I sang your collective praises. Pierce something for me. Of course I don't mean free.)
After they got their first two carloads of furniture up, I had them over for sandwiches and a few songs in Rock Band before they decided they had to had to HAD TO get back to Houston that night (and, unless I missed my mark, that put them back here at 5 in the morning!). The next, I went over to have Jim utterly hand me my ass on a Hefty plate, with some chicken for us and tofu for her. I ate the damn tofu too, and that shit used to scare me. She might convert me yet. And have more chance to do it, now that they're literally on the next hill over.
But they're all safe. I went to see her at the shop between a Government exam and work, and she was just beginning to settle into her booth. Funny enough, she's having to go backwards through papers to correct the mistakes of her predecessors, same as me. (Of course, sometimes it's guys who come and go in the space of two months, leaving a trail of devastation, but who's counting?)
Other than that, the 3/4 mark of the semester passed with three exams and two seminars, with another coming Tuesday. I think I'll actually make it through on my own volition for a change. Which is nice.
I'm starving. Peace.

Um, I think I'm about to have company of the extended persuasion. I need to clean my house before the week is up...
SXSW is about to start, and I have $40 to my name. So suffice to say I'm sticking mainly to free shows if I do anything at all this week. ^_^()
I do so many interesting things in altered states. It goes totally beyond drunk dialing, too. You should ask me about Super Stoner sometime. It's really entertaining.
Fuck being sick on your birthday.
That is all.
Actually, I'll probably be good enough to go work a half day tomorrow, but any semblance of partying will have to wait. At least I have a bunch of checks in the mail.

Blockhead with DJ Signify.
Black Moth Super Rainbow.
Aesop Rock with Rob Sonic and DJ Big Wiz.
Last night was fucking fantastic. Block is a hell of a producer, and I had to fight the urge to move my funkless white ass (my anti-groove thang, as it were) on the floor for fear of utter embarassment. Pennsylvania's BMSR tore it up so hard, even with their video feed reduced to twitchy, disconnected static, that I dropped $12 on their LP. And Aes? Even on show 38 of 40, on a 110° stage (oh, yeah. 65° outside, twice as hot inside), his live shows are incendiary.
I have a GHIII tournament at the mall tomorrow. I already promised Mercie that I would give her the $100 giftcard to Hot Topic if I won because I can't think of anything I could use it for. Their jewelry is overpriced and I feel bad buying band merch from corporate chain stores. Especially since the only shirts they have that I would consider wearing just make me feel like a douche bag for being retro for sale. But that's a personal choice, and she said she would use it to get a jacket, which seems kind of important in Maryland. Hell, I almost needed a jacket when I went there in June.
Well, I think I'm off to buy the Orange Box. Hit me up. Steam: xXMr_RobXx

Didn't mean to go out so abruptly, but then again, I thought I would be able to move with plenty of time to spare and continuous Internet service. This did not happen.
(It was damned hard to cancel the account, too. The button disappeared.)
I'll probably come back when I get everything in line, but for now, I'm basically cutting every last expense I have until I get an apartment, a job, and my affairs in order.
I don't intend to change AIM anytime soon, so consider that valid until I say it isn't. It's been a blast.

Unemployed. Broke. Kind of in debt.
But tonight, I turn 21, and that's all that matters.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to get smashed and smash things.
