These are the first two finished oil paintings from SCARS, they're in NY at the Strychnin Gallery. Both of the models are Suicide Girls, Roane and Nixon. The next painting I'm working on is of Anna Lee. Let me know what you think.

I have some great news, Strychnin Gallery http://www.strychnin.com/ will be showing two of the paintings from the SCARS series, both of the models are Suicide Girls, Nixon and Roane. The Nixon piece will appear at their New York location and Roane will be going to the Berlin Germany gallery. I'm totally excited yet freaked out because I've not started doing the finished paintings yet, but I'm ready for the challenge. I'll send details when I have them. Special thanks to Nixon and Roane both for modeling for me.

SCAR- Pronunciation [skahr]
1. A mark left by a healed wound, sore, or burn. Any blemish remaining as a trace of or resulting from injury or use.
2. A lasting aftereffect of trouble, esp. a lasting psychological injury resulting from suffering or trauma.
A scar by definition has negative connotations, but I see them as a reminder of life lived. We're born with a wound on our abdomen, evidence of our first trauma and our body continues to document experiences both physically and psychologically throughout life. I believe in biological predisposition, but it is our collective experience that influences the road we choose to take. This series explores individual expression and the beauty of our scars.

For those interested in modeling, I've created a list of questions that will help me create the concept for your piece. Please be thorough, if the answer is a yes or no, please elaborate. Some of the questions are deliberately vague because your interpretation is important. Your answers will be kept confidential, please send them to my home address, bri_sue@cox.net. Thanks again for your participation in this project, without you this series wouldnt be possible.
Cheers,
Brian
