Hello SG,

It feels like ages since I've written a really in-depth blog on here. I think I've gotten myself caught up in too many social networking sites ha ha.

I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported my book, I Hope You Read This Someday, as well as helped with voting for my MILF friend to win a photo-shoot. I always genuinely appreciate any and every second one of you takes out of your day to support me in something I'm doing. Also, those of you who have been supporting me with my quest to become part of The World Race, thank you. I still have not heard back from them due to delays with background check results and an overflow of applications.

I hope that everyone has been enjoying winter as much as they can. Before we know it, it will be smoldering hot again and we'll be aching for an icy breeze!

I also want to say congratulations to the lovely Damsel on her engagement! I adore seeing people in love wanting to spend their lives together; it's absolutely beautiful, and I wish her the best of luck & all the happiness in the world. lovekiss

I recently got back from Toronto. I was so bummed that I had no phone and barely ever had wifi, so I was unable to hang out with Renna as well as some other lovely SG ladies. frown
But, nonetheless, I still managed to have a great time. I definitely had a lot more fun than I initially expected!

My 21st is in two weeks [March 21st], AND it's my golden birthday. I'm considering painting myself gold, and going out on the town like that. I need some ideas for fun, cheap things to do for my 21st. I literally cannot make up my mind for what I want to do. I've technically already celebrated my 21st twice, since other countries have different drinking ages...so what shall I do for my actual one? ha ha. The possibilities are endless.

Hope you all have an awesome St. Patty's Day!

Hello, SG!

I've been on my couch for the past two days fighting the flu and bronchitis. I need some human interaction! I'm starting to lose it.

How many of you have gotten snow? Chicago is still behind on winter flurries, but I definitely don't mind.

Hopefully all of you are keeping warm, and managing not to get sick!

I wanted to thank everyone who took the time to vote for me thus far, and whom also read my previous post. I'm sorry that I don't always comment back. I do read all of the comments, sometimes I read them on SG mobile which doesn't let me comment back; so by the time I get to a computer, my tiny attention span has lead me elsewhere.

Thank you for all of the nice thoughts and words of encouragement. Every single syllable is appreciated. smile

On a side note, I know that this website has a very large creative following and so many of you on here are into the arts. I've posted some of my writings on here before and received good feedback.

I decided to publish a book of hundreds of my poems, writings, thoughts, etc. I have a Kickstarter up at the moment to fund it. If this is something you're interested in even donating a dollar towards, that would be thoroughly delightful!

I hope you all have a wonderful Halloween!

This might be one of the most serious blogs I have and ever will post, but I felt the need to let the outside world into my heart. My weakness.

I wanted to share with everyone the story of Blair, my young friend who chose to leave this world early.

I was introduced to Blair six years ago when I was barely even considered a teenager. She was very open with her emotions, she was very expressive. She took an interest in me, and I thought it was cool that someone thought that I was cool.

Every time I did something crazy with my appearance, Blair was the first one to think it was awesome and start filling my head up with compliments. I knew she looked up to me, for some reason or another, and I loved it.

One of the last things she ever said to me was that she wanted to become a Suicide Girl as soon as she turned 18 (which would have been this past August). She was so excited when I told her how to do it. She would have been phenomenal.

A few weeks later, I was sitting in a Starbucks with my sister and my dad on a rainy day when I received a text saying that Blair had committed suicide. I stared at my phone for about 10 minutes straight before I could even respond to anything my dad or sister had been saying to me. I looked up from my phone and had tears running down my face. I asked my dad to take me home, and started bawling as soon as we got in his car.

I couldn't even begin to comprehend this harsh reality. She was such a wonderful, lovable girl. Nothing was adding up in my head.

I attended her wake a few days later (which had a line of out of the building and halfway down the street). As soon as I stepped in the door, her mother hugged me and said, "She adored you so much." I will never forget those words or the impact they had on my life.

I walked over to the casket in which my 17 year old friend was enclosed, and decided to keep the memory of this sweet child alive forever. And that is where The Blair Movement began. (If you aren't sure what that is, I have a blog about it from September 2011.)

I am sincerely hoping to win Inked Suicide Girl of the year not only to donate a large portion of the prize money to AFSP, but for Blair.

The last conversation I had with Blair was about how she wanted to be a Suicide Girl when she turned 18. Her 18th birthday was August 1st, and the one year mark of her passing was two days ago.

I want for her last wish discussed with me to come true. Winning the title of Inked Suicide Girl of the year would be 100% dedicated to Blair.

I love you, Blair. I miss you and I wish you were here.

EDIT:

Anyone looking to donate to AFSP (American Foundation for Suicide Prevention), you can donate here.

If you screenshot the page once you've donated and send an email to theblairmovement@gmail.com with the screenshot along with your address, I will send you a "Be the Cure" bracelet in the mail.

Hello, beautiful faces!

I made it into the 50 finalists to be Inked SuicideGirl of the Year!

It would make my whole life if you cast a vote for me. I'm donating a large portion of the prize money to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention if I win.

It will be one year on September 26th that I lost a friend to suicide. What an honor it would be to win this competition and put forth more effort to save the lives of the people we love.
