So it appears my 9-year old daughter has cast her vote in the upcoming presidential election:

She was no doubt inspired by our attendance at the Obama rally we went to in February, where Michelle Obama spoke.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the mamas out there!

You deserve a lot of love and admiration. I hope you get lots of it today and all the days to come.

Hello to anyone who's actually stopped by to read this.

I haven't been very active on the site lately (other than to check out the pics and posts every once in a while) but I have a fun project to propose.

A friend of mine challenged me to create a flickr photo set of my 20 favorite album covers of all time. Not my favorite albums... my favorite album COVERS. I accepted his challenge and had a blast coming up with the list. Feel free to check it out here:

Be sure to click on the pictures in the photoset to see my comments on each one.

This was a fun little project. Now I challenge YOU to do the same. If you do, please send me a link. I would love to see yours.

Cheers!

Last week was a weird one......

SNOW! In Tucson friggin' Arizona! I was only able to snap a few pics before I had to run off to work for the day....and in Tucson a few hours makes all the difference to snow. By the time I got off work the snow was almost all gone! Blink and ya missed it:

My kids were so excited about the prospect of having a "snow day" and getting to stay home from school. I explained to them that snow days are for places that snow so much you can't actually travel to school.

Turns out I was wrong. We turn on the news and whaddya know.....school's cancelled all over town! Too bad I couldn't get a snow day from work! whatever

Okay, okay.......alright already!

You asked for it, you got it.......a blog posting from lil' ol' moi.

I've had a couple of people now tell me I need to get off of my little hiney (Is that how you spell hiney? Hinie? Let's just say "ass", shall we?) and post a blog. I've never done the blog thing and the reason is.....I don't generally have anything of interest to say! I lead a fairly low-key, drama-free existence. Just the way I like it, mind you.

That's why I'm here, in the first place....to live vicariously through all of YOU good people! ha, just kidding....I'm not THAT pathetic. Not quite, anyway. wink

So here's the latest and the greatest:

Last week was pretty much the week from hell. On Monday I had to euthanize my dearest dog, Devo.

He was a 13 year old golden retriever. He lived a good life and, thankfully, was pretty healthy until the very end, when he got a tumor and started having seizures. I'm still very heartbroken over this (as are my wife and kids).

He was our first family dog and meant the world to us. We got him from FAIR (the Foundation for Animals In Risk), a no-kill animal rescue/foster home group. I highly recommend that everyone who loves animals and wants to give them a good home contact FAIR or the Humane Society and adopt a pet. There's always a ton of homeless/abandoned animals that need homes with loving people/families. (That's the second time in the last 24 hours I've gotten on this soapbox. I've got to stop doing this!)

Okay, so that was Monday. Then, on Tuesday my car broke down in the middle of traffic. Just died. I get it to the mechanic's and, by Wednesday I've got an $1,100.00 bill for it! puke Yikes! I really wish I wouldn't have dropped that auto mechanics class in high school. I never know if I can totally trust the mechanics.

Plus, I watch too many of those evening news magazines (like 20/20 & Dateline) where they do the undercover stings to expose the mechanics that try to scam you. It doesn't do much to instill my faith that I'm not getting it in the rear from these guys. And I'm sure that when I take my car in I have "sucker" written all over my forehead. I have to ask a lot of questions because I'm just NOT mechanically inclined. *sigh*

Yeesh, let's hope this week turns out to be better. surreal

See you next blog!
