Okay, so I realize that I've been considerably remiss in my duties as an online friend. I haven't any excuse aside from being incredibly busy with other things, and not spending nearly as much time here as I used to. Still, I apologize.
Having said that, I also realize that very few of you will be interested in checking out my newly updated and redesigned website. I've managed to neglect that for over two years now, so you guys should feel pretty good about yourselves.
Anyway, there's tons of new art on the site, and the interface has been completely redesigned. You're likely to see some familiar faces there as well.
Ink & Sugar 2.0

So, if you get the chance to take a look, please do, and feel free to let me know what you think!
Take care, everyone.

Hello all,
Again, not much going on around here. I've finally gotten around to playing Okami on the PS2, and I can't stress how much I love this game. Everything about it is fresh and thoroughly enjoyable. As far as I'm concerned, it's everything every post Link to the Past Zelda game has wanted to be. It really is a shame that no one bought this game, because I think anyone with a genuine love for gaming should experience it. It's also too bad that the lack of sales contributed to the closing of one of the finest development houses in the history of gaming. Okami is a sterling example of everything game developers should be striving for.
No, this is not production art, it's a screenshot of the the actual game:

Anyway, if you haven't played Okami, you should.
Oh, and last week while I was getting my taxes together, my W2 blew out the window of my car, and needless today I was pissed/concerned/feeling like an idiot. Well today, I got a mysterious envelope delivered to me at work. Someone apparently found my W2 and took the time and eighty cents in postage to mail it out to me. How awesome is that?! Apparently, not everyone sucks. Even I suck, but the person who did this definitely doesn't.
Really, I guess that's about it. I hope you're all well.
Take care.

PS:
Obscure song lyric for the day:
"Sixteen thousand dollars, and all he wanted to do was dip us in plaster."
Anyone?

Hello all,
Not much going on around here lately. I've just gotten (mostly) over being sick. I had strep and some sort of virus which had me down and on antibiotics for ten days. Thank God that's over with. I hate the way that stuff smells. It's like someone lit a GNC on fire.
So now I'm just really enjoying some time with my lady, who I love very much. I'm very much looking forward to a nice weekend with her: some Guitar Hero and or Rock Band, movies, quiet time, and a delicious dinner on Sunday. I hope all of you have a great weekend.
I leave you with something that's likely not for everyone, but I find incredibly funny none-the-less. It's an episode of a Japanese TV show called "Oh Mikey!" (released here as "The Fuccons").

Hello All!
So okay, time for a new entry. Not that I expect anyone would be disappointed, but I figure I'll let you know up front that there will be no new artwork this entry. It seems motivation escapes me as of late; at least within the realm of painting. I am however working on a grand design project, to be completed hopefully within the next couple of weeks. Then I will hopefully be able to recapture that elusive ember of creativity necessary to create my paintings.
That said, I do have two things to talk about. The first is in response to Twinkie's new video in which she discusses having to acquire a stool sample. This is certainly not the first time she's unveiled some of the less savory details of her day to day life. While it's apparently a part of her personality to share such things, I also think it takes a lot of courage, and it occurred to me that she shouldn't be alone in her honesty. I was going to leave a comment on her page about a similarly dismaying time at with the doctor, but realizing it might be a bit too lengthy for a comment, I thought I'd post it here. I'll spoiler it for those who don't give a crap.

So there's my harrowing tale of physical examination.
On a completely different note, here is a video of one of my favorite wordsmiths. The video is rather lame, I think, but the prose is exceptionally funny. This particular piece is an excerpt from Ken Nordine's album, 'Colors'. The whole album is a series of tracks describing colors as though they were people. It's a really fun listen, and I would urge anyone with an interest in language to listen to his work.
Thanks to all of you who actually read all this, and I really hope you enjoyed the story. To the rest of you, I hope you at least enjoyed the video.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Hello again, all!
So, after a pretty trying week, things gave way to a much more pleasant and relaxed weekend. I got to spend some very nice time with the beautiful-even-when-she's-sick Spritely, built a Gundam model, made some delicious homemade chicken fingers (if I do say so myself), played some Rock Band, and...
...did some paintings!
It feels like it's been forever. I know it's only been a couple of weeks, but I used to be so much more productive. It feels good to accomplish something; more so when it's something I'm actually happy with.
So, for your (hopeful) viewing pleasure, I submit to you:
The wonderful and interesting Mistil

This one was a lot of fun to do. I stayed up into the wee hours experimenting with different things, and ended up deciding I really wanted to take it in a more design oriented direction. While I'm happy with the way the piece turned out overall, I'm disappointed that I wasn't able to capture more of what makes Mistil Mistil. I'd like to paint her again in the future, so hopefully then I'll manage to get it right.
Next we have the very cute striped_eclair

Again I got to do some more design type stuff with this one, but it was overall a much more relaxed piece to work one as I was going for just pure cute. Well, that and something that will hopefully look nice in my kitchen.
So I hope everyone had a great weekend. Take care all!

PS: I firmly believe that Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue" is one of the best albums ever recorded.

Hello all.
Here I am again with some art, but this time there is but the one painting. Hopefully you will all enjoy it.

The alluring Felice.
I haven't been doing a lot of painting over the past week or so. I guess I just haven't been feeling it. As much as I love painting, can't just do it whenever I want to. When other aspects of my life aren't running as smoothly as they could be, it's hard not to get cloudy. I'm sure it'll all clear up in time. At least I hope so. It's not like it's the first time I've lost focus. I'll get it back.
So, I guess that's it. I hope all of you are well.
Take care, all.
