Can the money be so enticing that you lose sight of what’s wrong and right?
Things have been so busy, but that seems to always be the excuse for infrequent blogging!
Where to start, where to start! I lost my job in early August. It was sad, but I have moved on. I took a seasonal job working for a non-profit for the holidays. I've enjoyed a lot of it, but there are always issues it seems. My boss doesn't like another lady, he said-she said rumors and really childish things are done on a daily basis. I am surprised and saddened on how certain things have been handled, but hey, work always comes with politics, and I'm only there for 3 more weeks.
The things that I have enjoyed have made the other things easier to deal with. My company collects food and toys for needy families and I work as the assistant to the special events coordinator. So working these events, handing out toys to kids and just seeing the smiles and gratitude from the people we help is wonderful. I am now thinking of trying to work in the non-profit sector in the future. The work is not glamorous, but at the end of the day, you are helping people. And I think that makes it worthwhile.
So I guess the easiest way to explain what else I've been up to is by a massive photo dump!
Stevie_D and I went camping at the hot springs for my birthday
After that, I went to San Jose. My brother adopted his foster son and my family went out there for the ceremony.
I think there were a few more trips and other things in there, but I don;t really recall at the moment.
So I'm staying here instead of flying home for Christmas. I am a little homesick this time of year, but I couldn't really take any time off with my job anyway, so it woulnd't have worked out anyway.
I'm looking forward to new adventures in the new year. The past few years have been hard, and I think it's time for things to go my way.
I'll leave you with a picture of this charming fellow, who I had the pleasure of meeting a few weeks back

NEW HAIRCUT!! You likey??
This is a time for new beginings, to rediscover whats really important and to strive for excellence again. Time to push myself to be what I want to be.
Things are looking a little up, there might be a light at the end of the tunnel after all. Right now I am looking forward to a (HOT!!!!, but) awesome summer with great friends, late nights and the occasional espace to cooler climates.
