OMG. I just wrote a blog and it got deleted. FUCK. Well double FUCK cause I got up at 8am Saturday to go down to my school campus for algebra tutoring. I did tutoring from 9am to 12. I am so pissed because I had him help me with some problems on the quiz that I was having problems with. He wrote them down on the chalkboard and showed me how to do them. I double checked that he wrote them correctly and i double checked that I wrote down the answers exactly as he showed me. He helped me with like four questions. I STILL GOT THEM WRONG!!!! WTF?? I got a 40% on the quiz. i actually broke down in tears when I saw I flunked it again. I did everything I thought I could to pass it this time around and actually did worse on this quiz than without the tutor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so pissed. My friend Anonyme has a friend who is a math tutor. He said he is gonna help me. he is gonna charge me $10 an hour for a minimum of two hours. I am gonna make him sooo rich!! I am going over to her house Thursday for it.

Overall I had a good weekend.

You know, I used to need math tutors, especially when I would get sick and be out for a few weeks. Sometimes, the way the help is the key, not just giving you the right information. Have you ever taken one of those tests to determine your learning style?? (Some people are visual, other verbal, etc...) You should, it might help you find another way to tackle this problem.

I definitely agree with what Selene said. I always did horrible at math in the classroom. Especially when I got to highschool, I failed Algebra 2. Then I took this online course where I had to teach it to myself and I did great. Math is ridiculous. Even more so when they throw letters in there.

well crap! What was your secondary? Like if you hear it and then write it down or repeat it aloud? Or maybe, if the new guy can turn the math problems into something that is familiar to you, like a life situation...?

And Tore is right, letters have NO business getting mixed in with number!

That really sucks for your quiz. Once upon a time I was fairly good at math but since I haven't taken a class (or used any of it) in over a decade, I don't think I could offer any help. Hopefully Anonyme's friend can help.

i hate math. I've gotten a tutor for each of my math classes I had to take. Statistics was so painful for me that my teacher agreed to tutor me. <3 good luck
