Well I have finally graduated with my BFA in printmaking and drawing. Now I am faced with looking for a place to live and a job that will pay enough to afford all of these bills. I have been trying to save money on going out by eating at home and working on paintings. It has been a long time since I last did a painting, but I have found it to be pretty fun and quick so far. It is also really exciting to use some of the printmaking techniques I've learned with acrylics.

The first one is almost finished and the second is a work in progress.

I have been working on a mural project at Gameworks down at newport on the levee and I have come to the sad relization that latex paints fucking suck. Some of the older cans that I was able to find have been okay but only the lighter colors keep an even consistency. Black was a real bitch until I figured out how to pull the settled pigment to the top of the mix. Even then the latex clogs your brush so quickly that fine lines are almost out of the question. Good ole sharpie started to come through for me, but of course sharpie isn't exactly archival on top of indoor latex paint so it could end up looking like shit in a couple years. Of course i won't be around when that happens and its just a hack job. Not really any kind of individual artistic merit to the project.
Anyways, atleast its a paying job to make artwork, even if its just a big company logo.

Today I was lazy. I woke up early enough to go to my drawing class, but since attendence isn't manditory and we just had a critique last week, I stayed at home and wasted time online.
Chatted with Jess again today. She is allergic, or says she is allergic, to tomatoes and tuna... I've never understood food allergies but I know I am glad that I haven't found a food I am allergic to. Imagine if I couldn't eat ice cream. ::shudder::
Jess has been really cool so far, but I shouldn't get my hopes up from chatting with someone I met through myspace. Online everyone is perfect and they can delete their personality flaws.
If I had as much time to think about what I am going to say in person as I do online, I probably wouldn't be as nervous in public.

All I can say I really did was shoot photos of my current works and correct them in photoshop, which was easy especially with the new camera.
Oh and I watched The Devil's Rejects for the third day in a row. While watching all of the blood and naked bodies, I tried to remember when in my life the site of those things would shock me. I guess innocence lost is also well forgotten.
