I have had my SG A/c reactivated, apparently someone paid for it, I am unsure if someone did pay, or is it just a ploy to hope I will renew my SG Subscription,

I heard something interesting on the radio, an author was talking out, the impressions others (friends and family) have made on us. probably without actually knowing it smile

its true, so go forth and make a good impression on others, you may never realise or receive the rewards but your efforts will not be forgotten. smile

My gosh 4.08pm and its virtually dark frown still the sooner we engage the winter the faster spring will come around.

I heard a radio show advertised on Radio 4, it appealed to me, it was presented by James May (scruffy Herbert of top gear) The subject was M25 races, (when it was first opened no cameras or speed traps) did they exist or were they an urban myth.

The show never talked to anyone who participated in the race, but a few people commented on the race, and how it unfolded, it was very vague. The show lasted 30 mins might as well as been 5 mins.

if the race did exist you required a Ferrari or Porsche to enter the race,

On reflection i was none the wiser if the race had taken place frown

OOooooohhh just a little message, I will not be renewing my SG subscription, so if all of a sudden I go quiet, that will be the reason why.

Whilst driving to a very local semi rural setting, I drove past a field of camels, they looked well funny enjoying themselves in England's green and pleasant land. The travelling circus was in town.

For those who do not send me a message, watch the skies, watch the skies, cos something big might fall on you unexpectedly.

Right lets make a start, Doctor Who as you may know the beautiful Freema Agyeman is being replaced by catherine Tate, thats a poor exchange

heres one for the lads, have you noticed how great women are at finding out what you have been up to on the quiet, sometimes they (women) act so dumb, especially when driving or snarling up the isles in supermarkets with thier trolleys, but boy can they join the dots to work out waht you have been up to, only the slightest clues are required, maybe they have a network of spies in the UK (other females), thier brilliant at it

Earlier in the week there was a belting phone in on radio 5 live regarding Amy Winehouse & Blake Fielder-Civil, (there's a couple of names) initially Blakes mum and dad spoke about how they felt about the couple, and how they wanted the public to stop buying her records, putting pressure on the record company to help, then Amy's dad felt obliged to call in, he advised Amy and Blake must hit rock bottom then they can rebuild.
later on phone calls were taken, ranging from, give them what they want & let them kill themselves to the Media only focuses on Amy because she is Jewish and the media is anti Semitic.

I love radio phone ins, this one was a classic i dont care how much anyone likes or dislikes Amy & Blake, its an electric never short of surprises story. the phone in was so good most newspapers printed the interview the next day, and threw in a couple of photos of Amy & Blake on holiday.

Radio at its best is better than TV, people are more relaxed, and you dont get so much sugar coated, do-do.

Our local radio station has phone ins there poor, example "I was walking down the road and noticed loads of pot holes, what do you think, ring me up and let me know" its boring, irrelevant, & hopeless.

At last after 13 weeks we may have a winner (yer i did not know it was ending either) of Big Brother, Lord knows how that show keeps going, who interested, it appears the media are obsessed, Joe public gave up on it years ago, as I speak radio five live are having a text vote, is it time to say goodbye to BB 85% of listeners think so. ooohh its gone up to 88% now.

The concept came from Holland, I once heard a Dutch commentator state "Holland deserved a nuclear strike for inventing it"

Who has not been on holiday this year, well you can now enjoy a holiday albeit a visual one.

I aimed to catch the atmosphere and ambiance of a narrow street in the South of France and all I got was this !

Plink Plink, Fizz Fizz, right thats the medication done, lets make a start

A week of minor irritations

As I was jogging along the riverbank, 2 small dogs decided to work me over, they did not bite, but I got loads of barks and growls, when the owner came along I started barking at him, with a few choice words, he walked off, claiming the dogs wont bite, neither of us could see the others viewpoint

Went shopping at Sainsburys, my bill was slightly higher than usual, upon a review of my receipt, I noticed the only item that looked a little high was Broccoli, I had purchased 3/4 of kilo, I knew this was not right, I thought the check out girl had mucked it up, and thought no more off it. Later on i got my broccoli out to cook it, I noticed 80% of it was stork, (the broccoli resembled a small children's painting of a tree, a big thick trunk (stalk) and a smaller green circle on top resembling the branches and leaves)
As they had no bunched Broccoli I had bought individual springs, what a rip off, however I am prepared for next time, I will remove all excess stalks, possibly with one off thier knives.

The lead cable for the iron caught fire and had to be renewed. upon inspection of the burnt lead I noticed the outer cable had split, the brown live wire must also had split and started the small fire, there was a warning here, afterwards i inspected all plugs and cables, I noticed a few splits in the outer cable on an extension reel, I should have thrown it, but I taped it up. i dont like leaving electrical appliances plugged in, TV's, computers etc, now I know why.

Went around my friends for a few cold drinks, regrettably I had a few to many, I was not drunk but it annoyed me I had to put a line through the next day, (also see opening line)

Read in the sun newspaper Ingrid (soon to be Ex wife of Chris tarrant) hatchet job on Chris Tarrant, I am not a media expert, but even i know;-

i) The article was contrdictory, she accused him of going to bed smelling of fish, having to take Viagra, and beat her up, but she also accused him of womanising and had loads of affairs

ii) The article went far to far, and was to personal, in particular dishing the dirt on Chris Tarrants love life, anyone could tell similar or worse stories on their partner

iii) Such articles always look worse on the person telling the story,

iiii) If Ingrid's plan was to use the media as a vehicle of conflict, she has overplayed her hand, far to early, the silly cow should have held something back, for future articles/ battles.

Bill Bryson the well know and respected travel writer once wrote happiness is looking at an ordinance survey map, I quite like looking at them if I am going trekking or climbing a mountain. I have a detailed map of Essex which can come in handy, its throws up all sorts of funny names of Local places and landmarks like Egypt bay, Pigs Bay, Two Tree Island, Lobster Smack, Rat Island, Lost World, and so on.....

Taking of places names, one place I would love to visit, possibly because of its name and location is the Khyber pass. The pass is 30 miles long, not only does the pass run between Pakistan and afghanistan, (previously know as the North West frontier) it has historically been the only way to get to India by foot, connecting Central Asia to South Asia, The armies of Alexander the great and Genghis Khan have marched through it

Its very remote and still very much controlled by tribes, a very dangerous place, even though the pass is a road in parts. The pass has a very bloody past "Every stone in the Khyber has been soaked in blood" is one description. Kipling described the pass as "A sword cut through the mountains"

Guns are every where, the bullet is still a strong currency in this frontier and the AK47 rules the roost, the region is very much a sealed society, houses and homes resemble Strong houses.

it can within the reach of a tourist, probably best to be a day tripper, but you must have an armed guard. thats why it probably best to stay no longer than a day.

Now a days smuggling is the trade ,weather it be, drugs, passports, The local markets and bazaars are beyond the control of the authorities, buckets of hashish, passports, official papers and passes are openly on sale
Putting the above to one side, the local hospitality is very nice, they love thier tea.

I have been caught out before visiting a place with a famous/attractive name, Casablanca!, I loved the film, what a fatal attraction, it was horrible imagine a city build up without planning controls, and has roads the width of the River Thames in central London

i am concidering something a bit naughty, but all in the name of comedy, my mate at work GCR likes hemp seed, a non holisnagenic canabis plant strain. As it is for human consumption, its not chemicaly treated (like hemp seeds for fishing)

GCR likes sprouting seeds, and has sucessfully sprouted a canabis plant from hemp seeds, and has it in his back garden, just for fun.

Now my angle on this is to grow some non holisnagenic canabis plants, and plant them in and around my local area, and gauge reaction.

whats holding me back at the moment is I am a bit worried of planting a non native species in the UK, my friend has seen a terapin down our local river, and some rivers are full of non UK Cray fish, which cause loads of problems.

Also if I am caught i may have to clear up the mess or worst get a bill for someone else to do it. So I don't thnk I will be doing it, I will have to think of something else, any ideas

Its quite rare I talk about my family on this blog, but here goes, I wish to cobble together a little dedicatation to my Gran (yes i know its not very SG). I knew Gran when she was retired, but Gran was still very hard working and busy, she was a modern day saint.

As far as I know her husband died fairly young and she had to bring up 6 children, they probably were hard times the welfare state had yet to get going efficiently, she probably knew little of wealth but lots about love and sharing it.
Gran was a strong lady, she had to be, the times/circumstances dictated it.

Sure gran at times could be a bit much, she loved her gossip, and could go on a bit, she once poored a cup of water over me as I was sleeping on the couch at daytime, however she had a big heart, and sweet side.

"She did her best" could easily be etched on her gravestone.
