Life isn't as complicated as it is simple. It's the fact that we want more complexity to the simplicity and therefore cause a situation based on that alone. Humans, by nature, want there to be some insane plot or crazy twist to every story when it can be as simple as saying "hi" to be friendly or actually allowing emotions to be unclouded by the puzzles we put between our minds and hearts. Humans... are just fucked up.
This is why happy endings rarely exist. I don't think they're not possible because some people do have 'em, they just don't see it as that. Give me a good wife, a roof over my head, and some sustenance and I'm good to go. Life may throw crap like a monkey throwing turds but that simple life would be outstanding to have.
