My birthday was less than a month ago, but I still feel like bitching about how awful it was. First off, I had to go to school and go to work. All day. Second, no one I go to school with even notices that I exist so I didn't get one birthday wish despite there always being these stupid announcements in the weekly "what's up this week" paper thingies. I don't think they know my name...there's only 128 of us. I'm stuck in a foreign country with no family or friends. I think the worst thing ever is to be alone on your birthday. Because then you think about how bad it sucks that you're getting older and you haven't done anything with your life and blah blah blah. I'm the oldest person at my school by like...2 years. Everyone is 20 or 21...some even 19. I'm old and I'm still alone.
I've been super busy in Luxembourg with school, and travelling on the weekends.
I just got back from my Toussaints break. I went to Krakow, Poland; Budapest, Hungary and Prague, Czech Rep.

I leave in 9 days for Luxembourg and I have so much to do. Next weekend is shot because my grandparents are coming to visit. So between Monday and Thursday, I have an eye appointment for new contacts, a dentist appointment, a doctor's appointment, a hair appointment and I have to shop for "appropriate" clothes in case I get one of the internships.
Speaking of internships, I sent the dean of the school my resume in hopes of getting to intern at the American Embassy in Lux City, but he didn't even reply to tell me he got it
Friday, everyone at the school (120 people or so) got an email about a law firm in Lux that takes on 2 students from our school a semester to intern. So I immediately sent off my resume. The email said that they prefer if you speak french, but it is not required. I finished my french major last semester, so technically, I have a degree in the language. I also will be taking intermediate German classes, so I have some knowledge of German (french and german are the 2 administrative languages in Lux-fyi). So I hope I have a chance .*fingers crossed*
I'm also going to vent about my current medical situation. I have polycystic ovarian syndrome and I had my "woman's doctor appointment", however it was not with an OBGYN, so the guy refused to do the exam because I had a "specialty problem" and he could not give me the medication I need. Unfortunately, there are no appt's available with an OBGYN until September and I am in Lux then for 9 months. This medicine I need will stop me from gaining weight and allow me to use calories and carbs like normal people (which my hormone levels don't allow me to do since I was 17). So it looks like I won't be getting that medication, which means I'm going to feel (and possibly look) like a fat blob. Joy....
Oh well. I'll just have to use a very strict diet of only foods made with wheat to counteract. It's going to be difficult when travelling, but I'll have to make do. I'd been doing it for a couple years now, so it shouldn't be too bad. Stupid damn ovaries.

so I believe the countdown is at 37 days until I'm back in Lux. Part of me can't wait to go, but then there are some things going on that make me want to stay. My grandparents are both very ill and my mom is thinking the worst. We're going to Alabama to visit them August 10th, so hopefully the whole family can pitch in and really clean their house, make them meals etc...I also don't want to leave my kitties. I'll miss them so much. They follow me around everywhere and I hope they don't forget me
I still need to write a letter to ma famille d'acceuil (host family), but haven't had the time to do so yet. I was lucky to find time to put together my resume in the vain hope of getting an internship at the American Embassy in Lux City. *crosses fingers* Hopefully, after I finish my german course for the summer (2 more weeks left), I will have more time to get things together. I have a ton of shit I have to buy before I go, and it seems it's all going to be last minute which kind of sucks. Somehow, I have to pack 9 months worth of clothes into one suitcase and one carry-on size suitcase....that should be interesting. I think I'll have my mom mail me winter coats etc...
I find myself getting bored with the internet lately and just turning off the computer (omg, I NEVER thought that would happen!). No one of interest to talk to and my messageboards all seem sub-par lately. I've been channelling my boredom into studying German, which is odd because I never study for anything. I'm bored enough to be getting an A.

Not much has been going on which is why I haven't updated. I finished first term of summer classes and now I'm in the next and last one taking German. I got my visa back last week to reside in Luxembourg, but they messed up the dates that it's good for, so I'll have to get another one at the embassy in Lux Ville. Today, I got my letter about who my host family/mom would be and the address of where I'll be and I'm very happy to be in the city! Last time, I lived in this little town of Rodange, about 1/4-1/2 mile from the french border and I really loved my host family, but it was just so far out of the way and with no car, I couldn't go out in this city at night very often if ever. So now I'm about a mile and half away from the train station. It's a 40 minute train ride to school every morning and then again back in the evening, but I think it will be worth it. I'm getting excited (again)! ^_^ I'm slowly starting to shop for things I need like luggage bags, clothes, suits, etc...Today I got 2 new bras and a bunch of underwear that will go with me to Lux.
Yesterday, I got a tattoo I already had added upon. It was originally just the black heart outline I had gotten over 2 years ago; no color, no anything. And this is how it looks (pardon the poor picture quality):
I forgot how bad wrist tattoos hurt and my wrist is still swollen today but nowhere near as bad as it was last night. It looked like I had a giant tumor under my skin. It was scary.
That's all for now, I'll try to update more frequently, but there's just nothing going on. *shrug*
