This morning around 3 am, I woke up to the sound of intermittent beeping. I thought I heard a noise, and then a scratch on the door, but I was just beginning to wake up and realize something was happening. My sore throat had worsened in the night, so it was hard to swallow and my mouth was really dry. I lay in bed for a minute or so, wondering if I should get up and see what is going on, and then I heard the beep again. I got up and walked out into the kitchen area, I saw that the dog's gate was knocked over, Tank was nowhere in sight and the fire alarm was beeping because of low batteries. I grabbed a cough drop, fixed the smoke detector, and went in search of Tank. He did not come when I called him, so I looked around the house and finally looked in my daughter's room, where he was curled up under her bed on a blanket. I turned around to go upstairs, and he followed. I let him in our bedroom with me for a while to make sure he wasn't too freaked out. He was ok, but not settling down to sleep, so I brought him back to the dining room and he went right to his blanket to lay down. I then tried to go to sleep, but just as I was falling asleep, my daughter came in the room with a bloody nose. I told her to lay on the floor next to the bed. I set up a pillow for her and got her some tissues. She eventually settled down, and I also tried to get back to sleep. My alarm went off shortly thereafter, and repeated in intervals as I tried to push for just 5 more minutes of sleep until I had to get up.

I mean, sorry, but I want to talk about TV.
No, I don't have cable. I'm not up on the haps on the current moment. BUT, I do have Netflix and the internetz. That is enough, right?
It is true that most of the shows I watch are entire series that are 5 years old. Um. Yeah. But, that's ok.
What are your favorite things to watch?
I started Downton Abbey and cannot get enough of it. It's like a really lush period soap opera. Also, Portlandia. I find some of the sketches hit or miss, but when they hit, they are really really funny. In the news of the old series that we watch - it's all about Liz Lemon & Jack Donaghy (30 Rock!) and Battlestar Galactica.
