Got cool news about work today!! I am excited to spend time in Estevan Saskatchewan and then check out North Dakota after I finish the job there! My fingernail finally fell off yesterday. My last blog was about it and that was a week after it got slammed. It took that long to lose the nail and now it looks like this zombie finger. Even worse than the picture I posted previous. Fingers look funny without nails basically.. I ordered a whole whack of new vinyl records and a bunch of them showed up in the mail the other day. Best of all was this next little baby..

So cool, and it's his saddest soul songs basically. Such a great album for a sunny Sunday (or any day..)

I also ordered some Batman comics that were drawn by Walt Flannigan and scripted by Kevin Smith.. I haven't received them just yet but I know they're in the mail.. However, I emailed to find out why it was taking so long because the order status at the online store was "pending review." I was kind of worried and looked into it. Turns out they were just waiting for Kev to autograph the books. -stoked-

hahaha anyway that's all for today beauties!!!

So I closed a door on my ring finger (left hand too!!) LAST monday, March 12th. Here it is today.

So that's all fine and dandy. Despite how it looks it doesn't really hurt anymore unless I bang it on something. I'm typing with it right now even. Have you ever worn fake nails? It feels kind of like that. Started to turn black in seconds. Definitely going to lose the nail and all that fun jazz. This is all stuff I can accept. I am however a cook and a construction worker. So not banging the finger around has been hard. I've had bad hand luck all week actually. I was putting away something at home and cut my thumb really bad on the serrated edge of a plastic wrap box. I actually debated getting stitches.. however I just bandaged it up and went to work. Thankfully I don't think that was a bad choice. It was quite deep but I feel like stitches would have been deemed not needed. Sure has been kind of lame at work though all cut up and bruised and missing a vital finger. I keep joking that I can't even find a date I don't need a ring finger!! hehehe. Anyway that's all for now folks! I hope someone actually reads this. smile

Edgewood, BC. This is one of the lakes there. I can't tell you the name because one of the locals said the lake is their secret. It's actually a man made lake created for a water reservoir to feed into a man made turbine that goes almost naturally through a mountain and feeds directly into the lake on the lower side of the mountain just as it originally did. It was a cool thing for me to be here this last summer and learn about all this from the men who built it. My father and his friend Gerry. It was one of their first jobs as apprentices. It was a life altering experience for me watching and listening to my father remember that whole experience much more vividly as he was standing in the site which was once a construction zone and the place of his temporary lunch room. Apparently he broke a handrail and almost plummeted to his death down the inside of a mountain. In which case I never would have been born. I was really glad to be in Edgewood with my Father this summer and one of his old best friends Gerry. I had the pleasure right before this trip of working a shutdown with Gerry. Which means I saw him every single day for 65 days in a row for 10 hour shifts. I never got sick of this old guy and he had twice as much piss and vinegar as the crew my age, worked harder too. One of those old guys you want to be like when you're old, you know. Anyway this was the lake kayaks and a very small shot of the lake. You basically need a panoramic for the lake as it's met by a very wide river as it is so this image doesn't do the lake justice. However it is hidden in the Monashee Mountains of British Columbia and it was 38 degrees Celsius the day I took this picture. Amazing 3 days spent there before I went on to Vancouver and Victoria and the rest of the island. 18 days of traveling around my home province was amazing.

This was Fort Rodd Hill. It's a little ways outside of Victoria, BC. It's just one of those awesome old historical sites. It's kept really clean ! Also right along the coast so it is near a lighthouse. A very amazing historical sight to visit. I spent 4 hours walking from room to room and posted like 30 instagram pictures or more. The above being one of them. All of that and it only cost $5 per person for the entire day. I was so stoked (and it was a really good date at the time) The other thing about this historical site for me was that I had been there when I was a kid. Like 5 or 6 or something. I could NOT remember the name and my entire family thought I was crazy until I posted pictures. Then they were all "Oh yeah! that place was cool." (Duh, I said it was.) This was the best trip of my life and the first time I had ever gone out on my own for that long and stayed in hotels and friends houses and the like. Was definitely an experience. My next big trip will be out of Country I think! smile

Another one of my shots, this one of the Fisgard lighthouse and some of the bay.

So that was my Saturday night. That's not me in the picture.. Some of my co-workers.. We had a Birthday party that was mostly staff. The cake had decorative dicks and a GIGANTIC dick lollipop stuck in the center. The birthday girl is newly single, so dick was a good theme, I guess. Things got pretty wild. I got to basically judge (along with MANY others) a deepthroat contest with all my hot server co-workers. This was hotter than it sounds. Not to be a pig.. but honestly I was speechless - "What the fu.. is this really happening?!?" - Anyway despite all this I finally managed to strike up decent conversation with a girl I always had some interest in. (Yes, it was before the competition actually! Though I was stoked to see how she did, honestly..) So this was a good night. I triumph! Sometimes leaving my room and not gaming on Saturday is challenge enough. Talk to beautiful girls.. this is.. puke nerve racking. Anyway things went well we talked some she hugged me lots and kissed me some. Bonus. She got kind of hammered later so I kind of just took care of her, left her with her best friend and then went home with my best friends. We had planned to maybe hang out some during the weekend, however it was a short visit and there wasn't much time for this. I wasn't sure if she just bailed on the idea or what so I only sent her the one text the next afternoon, which apparently she totally missed. I do it with my iPhone all the time so I'm hoping that's true. Anyway this story does have a happy ending! I'm not sure what will come of us aside from we are keeping in touch for when I move to Van in a month (possibly 2) and a half. However I finally decided to text her (as you must have gathered by the last exerpt) and find out she remembered and enjoyed our night at the party together. Okay neato. This is where we decide to keep in touch. She tells me she is going to visit me at work the next day. I kind of didn't get my hopes up.. and as things got later in the day I was kind of getting a bit down when suddenly she popped into my kitchen domain. We had a brief chat. It was the nicest thing a girl has done involving me in a couple years, sadly. Just felt like everything else was sincere.

Anyway, this fucking party... I felt like I was back in High School or like 19/early twenties.. Which I guess some of the people attending are arround that age.. so this makes sense. A lot of them are around the same age as me. Just the whole night was out of control though.. Everyone was drinking early.. so ridiculous shit started early in the night.. I remember a pair of 21 (or so) year old girls that arrived later in the night standing in a corner saying "What is this a junior high party? It's only 11:30..?" bahaha.. I managed to hold it together quite well. I RARELY drink.. but I ate so many appies all through the night that I finished a 6 pack and a bunch of shots as well as many Vodka soaked gummy bears. So really I should have been out of control. I even went outside and (did my regular thing) smoked a joint. All this together should have a lightweight like me tripping over my nerdy feet. I was pretty happy with myself. Was a good weekend to go do something.. silly like that because I had the extra day off. I just didn't even bother getting fucking dressed on Sunday.. Just shower, back into pjs, back into bed and Walking Dead. Boom. Sorry if you took the time to read this.. The whole thing sounds like the rant of a 15 year old boy.

Bye for now!
