It was a short vacation, but a fun one - I got to see a bunch of cool people, meet a few awesome folks, and see some beautiful country I'd never seen before...
Saturday after work, I hopped in my car and drove to Calgary... It was a beautiful drive, and I took my time for once. Made it in about 10 hours, and headed over to Strixy's new house. It's quite nice - they got an awesome deal
Sunday morning it was brunch time, which was great - I so miss seeing everyone on a weekly basis...
After that, it was time to spend some time with my mom, and then hung out with cuteshutterbug, at an apartment down town with some good friends - We got all messed up and walked to Eau Claire Market... it was a hoot, and some good introspective time.
Monday was kind of a waste for my brain - not so much what I did, I was just physically and mentally drained. Went book shopping, and then headed over to visit Vin. We watched some WWE, and then headed out for a drink (I had planned on several, but I was just too damned tired to deal with more than one).
Tuesday was crazy. I hooked up with Spanky for an Iced Tea (he had beer), then met my mom for lunch, then visited my grandpa, then went and hooked up a DVD and VCR for my g/f's mom, then back to my grandpa's house again to visit with family. Afterwards went to Gerry's (formerly the Husky House) to meet up with Amanda and some very cool strangers... Rin is cool, let me tell ya, and her friends are fun. After a sandwich and some coffee, I hopped in my car, and started driving south. From Calgary to Fort McLeod, then west to Cranbrook, South to Roosville, and into the US.
Right around Fernie it started getting crazy - it was patchy/foggy, and the highways were wet - so everywhere around until I got deep into Montana, there were deer and elk all over the highways. Everytime I turned a corner I'd have to slow down just in case, and too many times to count, it turned out to be the right choice. Customs was a pain - you'd think in a place called "Roosville" they'd at least have a sense of humour. Apparently they're bitter they work in a dead end little bordertown.
Anyways... I kept heading south until I hit Missoula, and turned West on the I-90 until the road got so foggy I couldn't see any more (around 5am). Got a room and slept until around noon, got cleaned up, and off I went further west.
When I hit Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, I made contact with the cutest little gal I think I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, SarahJane, and had a bevvie in Spokane, Washington. It was a great little visit, and I was happy to finally meet her (I've had a few opportunities, but they all fell through - so I made sure I made it this time *lol*) - After that, it was back on the highway for another 8 hours to home. It was freaky blazing hot, and I would have killed for some air conditioning. I think I may have caught a tough of heat stroke - us Canadians used to the cold and all (It was 30 here today... 80 in American... bloody hell)
Anyways - I made it back in one piece, and maybe I'll manage to get some pics from the trip up later

1900km trip home, 2 provinces (one twice) and 3 states... and I managed to meet 2 of the coolest people - SarahJane and rin who both kick some arse (neither of them kicked mine, thankfully... I'm a big wimp, so I would've been so toast *lol*)
Give em both some love - and maybe a high 5 or 2 for rocking so hard
I gotta get some sleep - more on the trip later

This has been fun.
I've come to some conclusions while impaired last night that make me feel better about life, the universe, and everything.
One of which is to occasionally remind myself that I work to live, and not vice versa. That attitude may not get me riches, but it'll certainly leave me much happier and more relaxed. There are too many moments that make life worth living that pass by without proper acknowledgement, or even notice because we're so busy working to make money to have a better life, that we forget about living the life we already have.
Life, overall, is good - I miss seein my friends every week, but it's fun to take road trips

Time to pack, get ready to go... prepare to travel.
OMG I'm looking forward to this trip... I get to hang out with cuteshutterbug, gonna go meet up with rin, and apparently do some partying Sunday night... Going to bunch, visiting my Mom, and my Grandpa, and whoever else I manage to find while I'm there!!
Who needs sleep?
Anyone up for an orgy?

Tonight, I must pack and prepare, for tomorrow I journey...
8-10 hours of driving will bring me back to where it all began - the place of my birth, and home to most of my friends and family.
It might be a chore, but I fully intend to kidnap the lot and move them all to Vancouver with me!

Whoohoo!
Road trip time - driving to Calgary Saturday night, staying until Wednesday!
Friends, family, and some time off work... I can't wait!

Today was good - bummed around mostly...
Went to White Rock for a bit, then hit the good ol` USA for something a little different.
Then went to Bellingham and tried an independent burger place called "Boomers". They have awesome milkshakes. The rest of the fare was pretty average - the Boomers Burger was a cheeseburger soaked in thousand island dressing, the waffle fries were pretty boring, and the onion rings were nothing worth writing home about - but again, the milk shakes are to die for.
After that, hit a few used bookstores, and headed home. Bellingham is a pretty cool little city - lots more to see and explore over the coming years.
Harrington`s books, and Michael`s Books in downtown Bellingham are both exceptional places... and you head north of the border into Abbotsford, be sure to check out a little bookstare called "Hemmingway`s" - the store is smaller, but they have a lot of hard to find stuff, and awesome staff too.

I've been trying to think about something fun to write about... something that may just inspire some thought, and or emotion in people who read it...
I'm drawing a blank
I don't feel like badmouthing religion today - it annoys the hell out of me every day, the way otherwise intelligent people are completely entranced by hocus pocus mumbo jumbo... but I don't feel it really - my heart's not in trashing anyone's mystical fantasies...
I don't feel like ranting about George W. - I still have the feeling that he's doing something at every waking moment to punish American soldiers, and rape the world, free and otherwise... but today, I'm just not feeling it...
I don't feel like remembering sexual escapades, disasters, or other drunken anomalies... in fact, today, I really don't want to talk about myself at all - maybe later I'll feel like sharing the story about the movie I can relate to, and the catchphrase "I've been beating off in the shower for so long I get a hard on when it rains!"... Why do you think I moved to Vancouver?
I could talk about all the girls who disgust me, or who turn me on, all the books I've read, or want to read...
but in the end... I'm just not feeling it.
So instead, I want to ask you - anyone who's actually read this far... What are YOU feeling - what gets you going, and what are your stories... What get's you "feeling it"?

Tonight, I wanted to go bowling in Seattle... ended up stuck at work until almost 7, by the time I got home and ready to go anywhere it was already 8 :/
So I went to see Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which was awesome - nowhere as cool as bowling in Seattle would have been - but then - how could you possibly top that?

Today was a big juicy shit stain on my week.
It wasn't awful, but wow - what a waste of a day :/
