Last weekend was the Fly Fishing competition on Matatiele Mountain Lake. We arrived at about 8pm on Friday night after a 5 hour drive and after getting our 2x4 stuck in the mud for almost an hour. The lake was BEAUTIFUL but we didnt know this of course til the sun came up the next morning and at that time we didnt appreciate the view much at all because it was SO FUCKING COLD. I cannot describe it. All our clothes got wet in the trailer and the ones we were wearing followed suit because it was pissing with rain and the grass along the waters edge alone was long enough to wet my jeans up to my thighs.
These pics of the lake were taken on Sunday, when the weather decided to show us some mercy.
Our only saving grace:
We didnt win (the winning fish was a 3.9kg brown) but my loverly friend Goblin placed 4th and we had a fantastic weekend in a beautiful corner of the world. Even though it took every vehicle a good hour to get through the mud and a great deal of rally driving to leave the place.
Finally, some pretty zombie/bloody things! <3

Those stockings are epic!!
The trip sounds great despite the cold. That always ends up being part of the experience though
