So, how's your summer going?

Mine has been magic. It's weird.. when in the UK I felt like I was surrounded with really incredible experiences.... really mind blowing, to me anyway. I didn't think I'd ever return. But after a few months of settling back I seem to have gotten into my wonderfully bizarre circumstances again here in Canada. July was a fucking awesome month.. which ALL started with a flood in my apartment.

Sometimes not so good situations offer much better ones.

Keep it up August.... keep it up.

the time overseas were amazing.. really really amazing.

But you know, it was just as abruptly that i left there as when I went there. I just knew it was time to get back to my home city.... as least for a while.

So yes, I hope I can get a new fucking set up soon.

My last post was in December. Now it's a day away from August..... wow time... (and then one day you'll find, ten years have got behind you.... and you run and you run to catch up with the sun..... etc etc)

Anyway, hello hello. Hope all are well. I needed some time to be sorting things... moved back to Toronto.... got a wicked gig... all is good, all is good.

Back to Toronto for 2 weeks for X-MASS. Woohoooo! Can't wait... I want to eat Count Chocula, twiizzlers, Baked Lays, Sleeman Ale, shop Queen West, hair cut at Coupe Bizarre, watch the Hour, play with my dog, frolick in the snow,..... love my country, and miss London.

Dark Rarities seems to be doing quite well out there in the SG world.. thank you for that. Hopefully it'll go live soon.. I dunno, maybe if I was rolling around with Linkin Park records instead of Throbbing Gristle the set would have been more likely accepted.

But Amok would never do that.
Not that I'm trashing Linkin Park. It's just not my thing... I should just stop talking about that.

Dark Rarities was actually the most fun to do out of my SG shoots. One reason for that was simply because I was warm and indoors. Beyond that it was just a really good time. We had Legendary Pink Dots playing on the stereo, drank a bit of wine and laughed a lot. I knew probably not everyone on SG would be familiar with the albums, but to me, they are quite special, and I knew that those out in SG land who were fans of the same music and art would particularly appreciate it. At least, I hoped they would.

It's certianly a more personal set for me. Music is EVERYTHING and THAT is why this is the favourite of my SG sets.

That's all I'll say about that.

There are many many many fine albums in that set. Believe me, I'm not the star of that shoot.

It's happening. I'm writing dark and unboundedly bizarre comedy for $$$. It's for Teletoon, during the Detour timeslot..... for a couple of series coming out next year. One is called Spaceknights, and the other, Swear Bears. It's wicked.

It was all by such chance, and circumstance, but it is indeed happening. Funny, if i hadn't moved to London, UK from Toronto, I never would have been in the situation which led me to these wicked gigs... in Canada.

I am remaining in the UK though. That's the joy of writing.. can do it anywhere.

So look out for 'em, next year!

What a couple of weeks. First the Edinburgh festival where I was graced by the performances of many of my favorite stand up comedians. Awesome.

Then on the road from the most south western point of England, up to North Yorkshire, shooting a tv pilot which i am co-producing. It's all about the eccentricities of England... of all that is unique and odd, and beautiful and hilarious... this is truly a stunning country. I particularly loved Hardraw, and West Witton - it's like being in the Wicker Man.

Let's hope the show gets commissioned.

So sleepy. Just got back yesterday, and shattered.
