Don't worry. I haven't fallen off the face of the planet... I've just been without an internet connection for the past 3 weeks....so basically I have no idea what is going on in the world, nor do I have any idea what day it is.

The craziness that is my life continues!
As some of you may know already, I'm an auntie!
That is baby Lilly my wonderful new niece. I had the pleasure of watching her wriggle her way out of my sister until 3:30 am on Thursday. It was super intense. I had about an hour of sleep the night before, and sat in the delivery room for 20 hours with no entertainment (dumb dumb poor planning). Around 2:30 I called my grandpa to come pick me up because I needed to drive back to Guelph for work the next day. I'm all ready to go out and meet him in front of the hospital for 3:15, and all of a sudden the baby is arriving! She wouldn't let me go home without meeting her first.
When my sister asked me to be in the delivery room I said yes, but joked a lot about Alien and my need for a plasma gun, and expected that watching a live childbirth would scar me for life but it actually turned out to be the most magical wonderful thing I've ever seen. Don't get me wrong, I'm certainly in no hurry (nor have any desire) to have children. I still remember all the rest of the reasons.
Anyway, before all that fun was probably the best roller derby practice yet. I even got my first bruise! I'd post a picture, but its like the size of a nickel and starting to fade.
We did a lot of hitting, but the best part?
FULL CONTACT ROLLER SKATE BASKETBALL
yeah.... that's right.

You know that feeling, after life has been kicking the shit out of you over and over again, and you finally get a break; It may not be much of a break, and it may not mean anything in the long run, but just those few moments of happiness that make you feel like everything is going to be okay.
I got that this weekend. I smiled for the first time in what feels like weeks, I cooked my first actual meal since before Christmas, and I got my appetite back!
Started my weekend out with a fantastic metal show at the Army Navy club here in Guelph with Baptized in Blood who are really great. That's saying a lot since I'm a huge metal snob and usually hate everything that's not from Scandinavia. Who knew good metal could come out of my former shit-hole of residence, London, ON (No offense to any friends that still live there, but I hated it)
Spent some quality time with the roommate on Saturday. That doesn't happen all that often. It's probably better that way....but it was nice still. My ears buzzed all day long from the concert the previous night, and it took me hours to realize the reason my neck was so sore all day....oh yeah! metal show!
Sunday brought the strangest yoga class I've ever been to. As I entered the hot yoga studio the yogi explained how we would be holding extremely uncomfortable postures for 5-7 minutes each for the next 75 minutes (in a hot room, listening to gong music). I have to admit though, it was kind of great. I felt extremely grounded, and although uncomfortable most of the time, the release afterwards was unbelievable. I had this feeling of post-orgasmic glow for hours after the class.
Finally this brings us to my first intermediate roller derby practice! So great to be back on my skates again. It was tough, and slippery (I think the floors were newly waxed) and exhausting, but definitely the highlight of my week. We did our first (sort of) scrimmages. It was an unbelievable feeling of power wearing that gold star on my helmet jamming for my team. I can't wait until I'm actually skilled enough to play in bouts. I have a long way to go but it's honestly the best thing I have in my life right now and I'm holding on so tight...
I love how it makes me feel strong and badass and like I can do anything, though I have to admit, one of my favourite parts are the tights and booty shorts.
ok so derby girl halloween costume...a cop out... i know... and helmet hair is not attractive... I also know that.
but that's what you get until shit becomes real.

oh yeah...and if anyone knows anything about promoting things online i'd love some tips. I'm going to be the online promoter for Guelph's pride festivities this year...

What a fucked up weekend....
I had my heart ripped out for the third or fourth or fifth time by the same person... not sure why I keep letting this happen. Completely manipulated me and toyed with my emotions...and still I let him. For some reason...
The great and interesting part of my weekend is a cassette tape, discovered by my sister, of a conversation from 10 years ago between my grandmother and a psychic. The only information she gave the psychic was our names and ages.... at the time my sister would've been 11 and I would've been 16.
She accurately described my sister's talents and career path, the fact that she would be having a baby, and moving out west.
For me, she said I was talented musically and would pursue that in school (which i did....for a while) but then if that didn't work out I'd pursue a career in the medical field and get two degrees (degrees? no.... i do however have a college diploma in nutrition and am working towards certification as a pharmacy technician, and considering going back to school to be a pharmacist....so that's pretty close)
The last thing she said is I would marry into money....
now that hasn't happened....but its a nice thing to think about looking forward to and make me feel less shitty about my current situation.

Hello Lovelies!
Its the weekend! In fact its the start of my second long weekend in a row! Amazing! I usually work 6 days a week so this is pretty much the greatest two weeks of my life.
Last weekend was pretty amazing; had a slumber party with my best buddies from grade 8/9. We reminisced over old photos, watched our old favourite sleepover movies (Labyrinth, Detroit Rock City, and The Craft) and ate way too many snacks. It was glorious.
This weekend started with a full day of cooking and cleaning.... doesn't sound exciting, I know, but it was very much needed. Tomorrow night? Going to see Crystal Castles at the sound academy! I'm pretty pumped though I'm probably going to feel old among the crowd....whatever. I'm going to dance my face off regardless.
Sunday night I'm going to a victory party for our music trivia league team sponsored by Wellington brewery. AWESOME. All those weeks of music trivia are going to pay off big time.
I've been doing a bit of planning for my vacation in July. It became real when I got to hold my airline ticket in my hand; 10 days in amazing Denmark with my family. I'm pretty sure we'll all be drunk the whole time. How can i resist the danish beer? Besides, the only sentence I know how to say in danish is "a beer please"...well...that and I can count to ten, so I guess I can ask for up to ten beers at once. epic.
My bunny has a new cage and I've blocked off a part of my house so he's stuck in a smaller area. It's actually been really great because he's a lot more social now that he's confined to a smaller area. He loves to hope up on to my bed and cuddle with me in the blankets. SO CUTE!

In other excitement, I've been going to this pottery place downtown and painting stuff.

I also got some new flowers for my hair for spring. Some springy colours and some not so springy....I love these stupid little things though.
