I can't believe how many responses I got about "Six Feet Under", that totally cracks me up. smile I'm going back through season one and marvelling in the many layers of meanings. Mmmm...

I had a really groovy day at work tonight, I'm really getting the hang of this IRC business. Feeling much more comfortable that I'm understanding what's going on. That pleases me to no end. I'm not sure if it's moreso than having gotten the basic gist of assembler, but I have a lot more fun with analysing the IRC scripts than looking at boot sectors. robot

On a more amusing note...
Q: What is your favorite board-game and why?
bonus question: What is you favorite to play specifically when you're drunk?

For me, that'd be... Ah-hah! ...Boggle! I get all creative trying to come up with words and laugh myself silly and end up losing because I spend the whole allotted time being a dork. smile
And my favorite drunk is Scattergories. Again with the creativity, for lack of useful brain-functioning. biggrin But for me this one's better drunk because the chattiness and rambling thoughts really work to my advantage.

God, it just occurred to me that I've been severely board-game-deprived... I can't even remember the last time I played one. I think it's been years. Therefore I don't think I have an answer to the playing-while-drunk thing... although I imagine that Pictionary would be pretty hilarious under the influence.

Yeah, the job is going great so far. The benefits kick ass. Only thing bugging me right now is I'm having to wait 2 and 1/2 weeks before I get my first paycheck... after 3 months of unemployment, that's a long frickin' time!

I played Trival Pursuit a few weeks ago with some friends and drank a few bottles of wine in the process. But I can't remember the last time I played a board game before that.

so that's you on the left, eh?

team trivial pursuit on LSD
girls vs boys
we should have bet on it...smoked those Y-chrome turkeys

in highschool we played this fucking hilarious video-assisted board game; well, it was not necessarily supposed to be hilarious, it was supposed to be scary. skull this demonic face would appear on the screen and call us "lowly maggots" and so on, and as i recall the first time we played it was genuinely frightening. but you just can't play something like that all the time; the game itself wasn't compelling enough, but the "maggots" was damn funny. how easily kids were amused way back there in the early 90s. it wasn't the done thing to spend hours online shooting zombies with a friend from the other side of the country.

Tragically, I don't play board games. I get board! No, it isn't really that; it's just that I can feel my life trickling away, and so I'm reading, writing, eating or having sex. Or sleeping. That goes in there too. The occasional movie. smile

it's a real trip being married. way harder than dating, because you can't blow him off. i can't believe when i hear people getting hitched after 5 months. how could you know anything about a person you've known that little? a good friend of mine married a guy a year after they met, and though it's smooth sailing now, they had some U-G-L-Y times when she found out he wasn't used to compromise and would literally throw adult tantrums, punched a window once etc. she confided in the heat of it that she would have dumped him if they weren't married, but i think they went to counselling and now everything is a-ok. no wonder so many marriages collapse in a year. you've gotta get over that hump though, which is what no one is ever told it seems.

Hey, I know what you mean about waiting for season two. When my boy and I got to the last season one episode, we both freaked out! Which is why he went on Ebay and got season two from some guy who taped them all wink

You know, I plan on being in Portland at the end of the month for Stewd's party. If you're gonna be there, I could bring season two and let you borrow it. Just lemme know.

I really like playing Balderdash. It's a game all about bluffiing. It's really fun when you are drinking. People love to lie, andthey get really good at it when they are drinking.

The fact is I haven't played many bored games. Board games, I mean. I've played bored games. God have I. One I did like was ... Pictionary, is it called? Like charades only with a lot of elements? And of course naked Twister. Joke.

things have been uptight the past few months. we are simply spending too much time together under bizarre stress, and it has sent me rather unhinged. namely, all my worst personality traits are raging unchecked and he's really fed up. i do not cope with stress, not even a matter of well or poorly. but at the same time i am trying to not beat myself up because that just makes it all worse. so i've been a bit of an ostrich.

this august we will have been together for 8 years, married 4. i had a totally chaotic couple of years before we got together, so loving him was such a peaceful delight. we have attained that sort of legendary couple status amongst our friends, and usually things between us are hunky dory. so i can only attribute this bad spell to my lack of coping skills combined with only-child syndrome; i forget that other people exist and that i affect them. confused

living well is a lot of work.
