Okay, time for another informal poll.

What's your most fond memory of going to a park? Like, an amusement park, neighborhood swingset, "family theme restaurant", maybe even a school playgrond. Who'd you go with? What did you do? What was so memorable about it?

It's a toss up...
it's either an easter egg hunt I went to when I was 7, or a damn fine girl playing pool at the santa cruz beach boardwalk. She was wearing Daisy Dukes, and a stars and stripes bikini top.
And when I say she was fine, I mean she was FINE!!!
Perfect curves, beautiful brown hair, and the finest rack I have seen in my entire life!
I was 12 at the time...
Hmm...
I guess it's really not a tossup after all.

Give me a jingle sometime...
We still have a bunch of drunken carousing to do.

Sorry, but I locked all those memories deep into my subconscious so they can manifest themselves as mental disorders.

One time I went to the park by my grandmothers house (we used to go there all the time) and there were a few other small kids and one big kid. He was probably like 12 and everyone else was like 6 & 7. Anyway, do remember those rides where everyone would sit in the middle and grab a bar but one kid would stay on the outside and spin it while running? So there was about 3 kids on it at the time and the big kid was trying to get us all sick. He was spinning it so fast. Of course we were all trying to hold on but one kid lost grip and slid off. Not only did he slide off, he was hit in the neck with an oncoming bar and knocked three teeth out on the edge of the ride including his front 2. I wonder why they don't have those at parks anymore?

haha! Sorry about that!! For some reason, it's easier to remember pain than pleasure. So now is the obvious question,.....what is your most memorable park event?

I'd say my most fond memory of going to a park thing was some time after we moved to the Portland area. We were dirt poor growing up, so when we went to an arcade or something it was only when we were visiting the grandparents and it was like "here's your $2 allowance, knock yourself out". A few bucks just doesn't make it far in places like that smile
So when we moved just down the road from Chuck E. Cheese a few years ago, we went to visit it one night and spent something like $20 for the whole evening. Of course now that's chump change for a night out. biggrin But I had a freaking blast. I'm re-living my child and this time I'm doing it right. tongue
