“That's the problem with drinking, I thought, as I poured myself a drink. If something bad happens you drink in an attempt to forget; if something good happens you drink in order to celebrate; and if nothing happens you drink to make something happen.”
― Charles Bukowski, Women

So let me tell you in details about the last few days.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

Wednesday, like I said, I was invited to the Cutthroats game but had to find someone to go with. Hard to explain. I had to beg my dad to join me. "Dad, all I want for my birthday is you to go with me to the game. I'll even pay for tickets." I even bought his beers too. But it was a promising night and I was hoping the game would go well. The Sundogs and Cutthroats have so many beautiful players. It was my version of softcore porn. After our tickets were checked by a man who takes his job WAY too seriously, he told us we were free to move around. I COULD SIT ANYWHERE. I just had to pay a base fee, basically. So the last two periods of the game I was against the glass. It was such a glorious feeling. And the section I was in has a waitress! OMG I WAS IN HOCKEY HEAVEN.

Of course, I was also in a Coyotes jersey. Sundogs players noticed, including Schlemko. That was so fun. Sadly, Russo let us down and let in 6 fucking goals and bb Millan had the shutout. I got a nice buzz going on. I'm glad I wasn't sober because my dad was chanting Russo's name with the rest of the crowd. They were also talking shit to Brownie who wasn't even in net! So dumb. But they talked shit about Quincy as well.

That night was awesome. Nothing like hearing a halfdrunk guy read your tattoos outloud in his wonderful french canadian accent and touching you. But I drank until 8am and passed out at 11am singing Ludo all night. Pretty sure I pissed my dad and my neighbors off.

Thursday was boring. 3 hours of sleep and a hangover. Napped a lot. Got invited out super late but then the person's roomie was sick so I had to turn around and head home when I was half way there. So I was asleep around 5 or so. Up around 9 or 10.

Woke up, showered, got ready, and ended up going to the game alone. I saved money, sure. But until I had two double jim & cokes in me I was shaking and nervous and terrified. I never ever ever ever go out alone. I ended up getting to sit suuuuuper close to the glass. I was too scared to sit up front alone. But thank god Larocque scored that night. I was THE. ONLY. PERSON. cheering for that goal. OMG. Thank god for alcohol. It went into an SO and the Sundogs lost. But Brownie was in net this time and the team played like shit. I was still happy though. I got to know the waitress and met a guy between periods. It was fun. I never thought I could have so much fan alone.

That night I ended up on a texting spree and after I stupidly pounded a redbull after the game I was up all night drinking at home again. I drank until liiiiiike 11amish. Surprisingly I didn't openly tweet much, and kept my mouth shut. I did some fangirling, spent hours on youtube, found some bad news, and still had a great time. Got close to a few friends. Woke up around 2:30pm and get ready for the game against the Brahmas. Met my date there. He's a cute guy and funny but tried too hard. Either way, it was nice to go with someone I guess. Too much complaining about hockey like he was fucking Mike Milbury. How this guy did this wrong or this wasn't going right or whatever. Like dude, I know. Just because this is my third Cutthroats game doesn't mean its my third hockey game. Whatever. I'm sure I'll see him again before I move.

Seeing as Denver lost 4-0, the highlight of my night was watching the Cutthroats warmup and Quincy looking straight at me, shooting a puck at the glass and then fucking laughing after I almost pissed myself. Kinda sucked watching the Brahmas beat them like that when I was finally cheering for the fish buttttttttttt life, eh? Brahmas had some good eye candy though. Call me what you want, but exchanging winks with their players behind my date's back was fucking hilarious. I had fun.

Anyways. I won't be going to a Cutthroats game for a while. It also depends on when I move and if Reekie is able to take a mini vacation before we settle down and get jobs and shit. Its exciting though. I have some big hockey plans all the way through Feb! And that's JUST CHL. I also have plenty of USHL games to attend too. I miss the NHL a lot less. Not like I won't flock back like a lost sheep when the lockout ends..... but I'm enjoying so much hockey lately. I've yet to go to a DU game.

I was very sick last night. About 10 hours total of sleep since Wednesday and lots of drinking. I was so exhausted that I couldn't open my gatorade, and I was shaking violently. But I'm mostly better now. Just a little tired still and emotional. I cried at the end of AC3, and at a few other things. I think I just need to accept some things, ignore some texts, and then move on.
So.... moving on.

Women is the only Bukowski book I've read, and I liked it. It makes me wonder if his others are in the same vein.

Remember you still have hockey, and everything will come to pass. Focus on the better future and tell the emotional baggage to piss off, don't let it weigh you down.
