I know I've been teasing you all with tidbits about my multi, and I'm sorry it's taking so long! We've had such a run of bad luck; not only the photographer, but my god, the technical difficulties! So, long story short, Melley's going to upload the set to her account very soon (we hope)
So I got some more piercings: snakebites and my tongue. Eating has been very difficult, but I've found mac and cheese has become my best friend! Smoothies too, and those yummy Knorr garden variety soups! Ah the liquid and cheese diet
I've got some great pics, and I've got an idea of how to upload them, but without that fucking cable, it's just such a bitch!
I'm getting weary of waiting to find someone to dread my hair. I've wanted dreads for almost two years and my hair's finally long enough, but I can't find anyone to help me!
I could go to a salon, but the only places I've found only do dread extensions, which isn't what I want.
So please, if anyone knows where or who to go to in the Ottawa area (or thereabouts - I'm willing to travel a little) to get dreads, please tell me! I'm ever so anxious!

also, though not everyone wants to hear it (that's your warning to stop reading
) i got my period today! that wouldn't be blog worthy, except that it's my first in almost two years because of the pregnancy and subsequent breastfeeding! so that was exciting! a relative of mine died this week. i wasn't told about her death or invited to the funeral because my family doesn't like me
she was like a pseudo-grandma to me (though actually my brother's mum-in-law) so it's not like her death was unexpected age-wise, but she'd just got married earlier this year, and her now widower of a husband had just lost his previous wife two years earlier. i never met him, but goddamn, that poor man lots of people have been asking me about the multi i shot. well we have the pics, but we're having trouble sorting through the pictures because, well frankly, they suck
*groan* that's it! i'm never working with another photographer who doesn't already have accepted SG sets!! (except for Khoos, cuz she's awesomesauce
)the photographer who shot our multi was no fucking professional (though he claimed to be). i'm so disappointed. but we put so much time, money and effort into the set that we're going to select the best shots and submit them anyway. if nothing else, we can get some constructive criticism on our modelling
i guess the best part of the shoot was our video
i really hope to shoot with a staff photographer sometime soon, but the timing all depends on travel expenses, how long i have to save
WOOT! fucking hell yeah! i just got a popcorn shell out of my teeth that i'd been working on for two hours!
but i was entertained in the meantime, watching Anchorman!

i'd like to get my hair dreaded before the shoot, but in the back of my mind i have thins voice of doubt saying "mess with your hair before the shoot and you'll fuck it up" ... which would be bad, very bad
well, i've got to go to bed, but i doubt i'll be able to sleep
i still mean to post pics of my nose piercing, but i'm missing the upload cable
i got my nose and ears pierced yesterday (that's now nine holes, eight of them in my ears) the piercer is my friend, so she gave me a fucking awesome deal!!
oh, and Oz update: he furniture-walks, stands unsupported, climbs stairs, crawls everywhere, eats people food, and says "dada" and "mama". his sleeping schedule's more or less back on track, and he sleeps in his own crib. he's just so cute, i still can't believe he's mine; i made him!!
in other news, my search for a hopeful to shoot a multi with has been largely fruitless but i will not give up! there's a multi video contest for next month, so that widens my window of opportunity. wish me luck 
But that was pretty much the highlight of my week. I've moved and I'm really depressed about it, so if you don't want to be bummed out, don't read this next spoiler.
But I've got to say, I'm loving having a dishwasher! And the cats love the patio doors.
In other news, I'm a vegetarian again!! I started eating meat when I found out I was pregnant, and kept it up while breastfeeding. I know you can easily have a healthy pregnancy on even a vegan diet, but I'm dirt poor and if the only way I can afford to keep food for two in my stomach is by eating a burger, I'll eat a burger. But now Oz is nine months old and eating more and more baby food, not to mention that living with my in-laws I get tons of super healthy food for free, so I figured I didn't need to eat it any longer. yay me!
I'm very excited about this month's creative contest! I could try again for the video or the self shot, but I'm hoping I can shoot a multi (without crossing the border … passport won't arrive in time ) … that is, if I can find someone to shoot with! I was in the planning stages with one girl, then she went pink (yay for her, boo for plans), and I'm still in the planning stages with another lady, but neither of us can get out passports in time for the contest. So I guess I need to find a Canadian hopeful, or a non-Canadian who's got a passport! I've got one in mind, but with the number of hopefuls going pink with this new "set of the day" system, I don't think she'll be a hopeful much longer … We'll see!

i'm moving soon ... the end of the month ... i really don't want to. i hate moving. before i met my husband, i'd only lived in three homes, two of them before age 6. then i met him. this will be our fourth move in as many years 
i don't like being transplanted. if i were a plant, i'd be a giant redwood so people couldn't move me ...
Oz has been staying up until 3, 4, even 6 am ... i'm not getting enough sleep or sunlight. i need to get our schedules straightened out!!
but Tom is really enjoying his new job at the hospital! that makes me incredibly happy
lately there have been some amazing sets in the hopefuls section, and there are at least two sets which haven't gotten nearly as much love as they deserve (i said "at least two" meaning there are more)
allow me to direct your attention to the lovely miss PirateDoll! she's shot a set with the extremely talented Lavonne, and as i write this, her set has been up for 10 days and only has 94 comments!!

edited to add: since i'm moving at the end of the month, and therefore must begin packing, i'm going to take a break from SG for about a week. that way i'll concentrate on packing, and i'll be able to pack up my computer. my husband says i have an obsession, lol, he may be right ... this may be tough. i'll miss you and see you all in a week

My week was otherwise pretty humdrum. There was, of course, some obnoxiousness to break up the monotony; I only have two weeks left in this building. All I wanted was for that time to pass without fire-drills, but oh no! Twice in the past week the alarm's been pulled, and when you have a baby, sitting on your ass because it's probably a false alarm isn't an option! So I hurriedly bundle Oz up, shove two unhappy kitties in knapsacks, and trek down 13 stories, only to be told by firefighters that it's a false alarm before even stepping outside. To add insult to injury, it takes a while to get the elevators working again, so 13 stories of stairs back up too!
Oh well, I'd had a fair bit of junk food this week, so the exercise couldn't have hurt ...
Oz celebrated his eight month birthday yesterday! He's growing fast … in fact he just outgrew his bassinette!
Other than that, all of my electronics are on strike! My Xbox developed a manufacturer's defect, our Roger's box died, and our DVD player's on the fritz!
When the player does decide to work, I've been watching season one of Bones. It's a lot better than I expected!My self shot set submission has been getting a lot of good feedback! Thank you everyone who has commented so far!! It means so much!

Yes, I've finally submitted a set. It's not what I expected my first set would be like … I was putting off shooting for so long because I wanted everything to be perfect and look very professional. But when the self shot contest was announced, I just had to give it a good try. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, right? Even though it's not main page material, I'm getting some great constructive criticism, so that when I do shoot with a pro, I'll be able to strut my stuff just that much better!!
So go check out my set, self shot, on my balcony, in -20C weather. (I thought I was going to get so ill, but strangely enough, I feel great, and my hubby got sick
) It was a pain in the ass to shoot, so I really hope you like it!! 
Speaking of the self shot contest, I've been going on and on about Steller's set Grab a Chair, and it is marvelous, but there's a new contestant who's blown me away. The ever lovely blink_ has thrown her hat into the ring. I mean, I'd love to win, but this set really deserves to win!! Go say splendid things about her set Orange Peel
For the most shocking set, there haven't been many applicants. In fact, I've only noticed ONE so far! But that doesn't matter since that one is fabulous and completely deserves to carry home that prize!! I'm throwing all my support behind Fatality for her set Volcanic Ruins

things seem to be a little better between my husband and i ... nothing big, just the little things, but it was the little things that had me upset in the first place ... i'm pretty happy right now
so i shot a video for the creative contest (the sexiest educational video part) but i'm not going to submit it ... sadly, the audio was really off
the whole time, it sounded like i had a terrible lisp!! and i tried shooting it at least 5 times ... it was full of disasters (tripping over cats, knocking over lighting, etc) and i squeezed into shoes two sizes too small cuz they are ever so sexy, and after all of that, i realise i just don't have the audio equipment to make it worthwhile what a bummer!
oh well, self shot set, here i come ... i'm going to get a friend to take me out this week to shop for a few lighting supplies and such and hopefully, i'll have a set ready by the end of the week *crosses fingers*
