I'm going back to work on the 4th. i'm excited and terrified. i've got daycare lined up for Oz, i just want to meet the woman first. it's got me pretty stressed, but it's a good kind of stress i think. 
i went to my friend's bridal shower yesterday. there were some fucking awesome vegan scones! they were so good i probably ate half the batch! 
last week i got really ill. i woke up with such extreme stomach pains i thought i'd accidentally poisoned myself. I had a headache, chills, fever, nausea, dry heaving, disorientation, and dizziness/weak knees. my friend came over and took care of me. that night, i got my period, and it all went away! i couldn't fucking believe it!! if i have to go through that once a month, i don't know what i'll do! 
i got three really old vegetarian cookbooks from the local book market the other day. when i got them home, i discovered one was really an "almost" vegetarian cookbook, since they kept calling for ingredients like worcestershire sauce, anchovies, chicken broth, bacon, and ham 
the woman who wrote it was clearly a moron!
the second one wasn't vegetarian either; it was actually vegan!! and get this: it was written in the 70s by a vegan hippy cult!! they even include a picture of their prophet in the intro. it's a fucking awesome book, and i love it! 
the last book was actually a regular vegetarian book 
i made some goddamned awesome vegan shepherd's pie yesterday. it's already half gone! miam miam miam!
Cygnes should be coming over early this week to do some finishing touches on my dreads. hopefully pictures soon!

so i just got back from meeting the woman, Layla, who will be watching Oz for the summer. she was very sweet, and answered all the questions correctly! i now officially have daycare figured out for my baby (well for the next couple months anyway)

i feel like i'm falling in love with my husband all over again!! we've been communicating so well lately (and having amazing sex, but surprisingly, i'm more excited about the communicating)
the important thing is we're bonding, and talking, and incredibly in love!
i'm sure some of you are wondering about my multi ... i thought it was going up on the 5h, but apparanly it's going to member review on the 25th ... so keep your eyes peeled!

(except i was wearing a blue dress and had a blue stone pendant around my neck!) anyway, it's just a really beautiful set!

i tried to call out for help, but all anyone could understand was "ungh! uh ung un uh ue ung!! uuuunng!!" so it took a few minutes before i got untangled! oh well, no harm, no foul!
today was weird (other than piercing mishaps) ... oz refused to nap. he almost napped at 7 pm, but 10 minutes of "i think he's finally passed out" doesn't really count as a nap! he's just finally gone to bed in the last 20 minutes
my mat leave is almost over. i don't know what to do. i don't feel ready to leave Oz all day (he's not even weaned off breastfeeding yet), and i don't know if my current job is still right for me since i'd be away from him so much (once you calculate in the commute). i might have to find something more local.
*sigh* such big decisions!
in other news, i'm feeling so much better about things between my husband and i. he'd been really distant for a couple of months and i was at my wit's end about it. finally one night, he woke up and just sat awake in bed, silent for about 20 minutes. then finally he mumbled, "i've been having bad dreams"
"that's terrible," i said. "what about?"
"i dreamed you want a divorce"
turns out he's been having this recurring dream a couple times a week for the past couple of months!! i coulda smacked him for not telling me sooner, but we talked, i reassured him, and things between us have been great since that night! i love my man
i still don't have any pics of my dreads for you all, because they're still only half done. my sister and i get really distracted while working on them, and Oz is a real pest (a real adorable pest, but a pest just the same), so the progress has been slow. but they'll get done, eventually!
well, i guess that's it for me today. i'll try to update my blog more often, but i tend to only find the time when i'm exhausted. but i'll try

my computer had been on the fritz for the better part of a week! i suspected foul play, but it seems to have fixed itself!

so the multi has been submitted, and will be posted to the hopefuls section via Melley's account by June 5th. don't get too excited, i'm warning you, the photography is mediocre, but Melley and i really had fun making it, so i hope you enjoy
my lip and tongue piercings are feeling much better! (but i'm still not able to play dentist with Oz)
i can now drink without a straw and only minimal spillage. i can also eat solids, i just have to chew slowly and carefully
so no more liquid and cheese diet for me ... in fact no more cheese for me. i read the book Skinny Bitch, and it was the motivation and information i needed to make the leap from vegetarian to vegan! i'm also cutting out sugar, caffeine, decaf coffee, pop, and bleached anything (whole grains for me). it's not nearly as hard as i thought it would be, and i'm actually finding it to be a lot of fun! i actually enjoy eating more than i did when i was omnivourous ... i think it's the "guilt free" part
my sister came over yesterday and started dreading my hair ... she'll finish the job on friday! i'm super excited to see the finished product!

my husband's best friend is apparantly good pals with an inspector of the local tattoo shops, so he's going to ask the guy to put in a good word for me to get my Trill spots at a reputable shop

Oz has been quite the handful lately! the walking isn't hard to deal with, it's the climbing!! and the sleeping, oh god, the sleeping!!
he woke up for four hours in the middle of the night over the weekend!! no reason behind it, just woke and wouldn't go back to sleep! then last night, he woke and screamed for twenty minutes straight!! he was inconsolable! i didn't know what to do! eventually he cried himself back to sleep
so i'm a tad sleep deprived, but i'm doing ok

I know I've been teasing you all with tidbits about my multi, and I'm sorry it's taking so long! We've had such a run of bad luck; not only the photographer, but my god, the technical difficulties! So, long story short, Melley's going to upload the set to her account very soon (we hope)
So I got some more piercings: snakebites and my tongue. Eating has been very difficult, but I've found mac and cheese has become my best friend! Smoothies too, and those yummy Knorr garden variety soups! Ah the liquid and cheese diet
I've got some great pics, and I've got an idea of how to upload them, but without that fucking cable, it's just such a bitch!
I'm getting weary of waiting to find someone to dread my hair. I've wanted dreads for almost two years and my hair's finally long enough, but I can't find anyone to help me!
I could go to a salon, but the only places I've found only do dread extensions, which isn't what I want.
So please, if anyone knows where or who to go to in the Ottawa area (or thereabouts - I'm willing to travel a little) to get dreads, please tell me! I'm ever so anxious!

also, though not everyone wants to hear it (that's your warning to stop reading
) i got my period today! that wouldn't be blog worthy, except that it's my first in almost two years because of the pregnancy and subsequent breastfeeding! so that was exciting! a relative of mine died this week. i wasn't told about her death or invited to the funeral because my family doesn't like me
she was like a pseudo-grandma to me (though actually my brother's mum-in-law) so it's not like her death was unexpected age-wise, but she'd just got married earlier this year, and her now widower of a husband had just lost his previous wife two years earlier. i never met him, but goddamn, that poor man lots of people have been asking me about the multi i shot. well we have the pics, but we're having trouble sorting through the pictures because, well frankly, they suck
*groan* that's it! i'm never working with another photographer who doesn't already have accepted SG sets!! (except for Khoos, cuz she's awesomesauce
)the photographer who shot our multi was no fucking professional (though he claimed to be). i'm so disappointed. but we put so much time, money and effort into the set that we're going to select the best shots and submit them anyway. if nothing else, we can get some constructive criticism on our modelling
i guess the best part of the shoot was our video
i really hope to shoot with a staff photographer sometime soon, but the timing all depends on travel expenses, how long i have to save

i'd like to get my hair dreaded before the shoot, but in the back of my mind i have thins voice of doubt saying "mess with your hair before the shoot and you'll fuck it up" ... which would be bad, very bad
well, i've got to go to bed, but i doubt i'll be able to sleep
i still mean to post pics of my nose piercing, but i'm missing the upload cable
i got my nose and ears pierced yesterday (that's now nine holes, eight of them in my ears) the piercer is my friend, so she gave me a fucking awesome deal!!
oh, and Oz update: he furniture-walks, stands unsupported, climbs stairs, crawls everywhere, eats people food, and says "dada" and "mama". his sleeping schedule's more or less back on track, and he sleeps in his own crib. he's just so cute, i still can't believe he's mine; i made him!!
in other news, my search for a hopeful to shoot a multi with has been largely fruitless but i will not give up! there's a multi video contest for next month, so that widens my window of opportunity. wish me luck
But that was pretty much the highlight of my week. I've moved and I'm really depressed about it, so if you don't want to be bummed out, don't read this next spoiler.
But I've got to say, I'm loving having a dishwasher! And the cats love the patio doors.
In other news, I'm a vegetarian again!! I started eating meat when I found out I was pregnant, and kept it up while breastfeeding. I know you can easily have a healthy pregnancy on even a vegan diet, but I'm dirt poor and if the only way I can afford to keep food for two in my stomach is by eating a burger, I'll eat a burger. But now Oz is nine months old and eating more and more baby food, not to mention that living with my in-laws I get tons of super healthy food for free, so I figured I didn't need to eat it any longer. yay me!
I'm very excited about this month's creative contest! I could try again for the video or the self shot, but I'm hoping I can shoot a multi (without crossing the border … passport won't arrive in time ) … that is, if I can find someone to shoot with! I was in the planning stages with one girl, then she went pink (yay for her, boo for plans), and I'm still in the planning stages with another lady, but neither of us can get out passports in time for the contest. So I guess I need to find a Canadian hopeful, or a non-Canadian who's got a passport! I've got one in mind, but with the number of hopefuls going pink with this new "set of the day" system, I don't think she'll be a hopeful much longer … We'll see!
