I am finally updating my journal, after being a lazy fuck for about six weeks straight.

Summer's rolled by pretty fast this time; I go to London in about ten days, and I'll be there for a short time. I'm hoping to catch as much as I can. If you have suggestions beyond the usual tourist stuff (which I hate doing), let me know. biggrin

I ran into my ex recently, and it wasn't pretty. We had parted on kinda ugly terms, and seeing her brought everything back. Then again, half of it was my fault, so I can't really complain.

I just saw 'True Romance' tonight, since I couldn't sleep. That, mixed with ample amounts of Ani di Franco, made it an interesting night. Also saw 'Almost Schmidt'; I've never been as appalled at family life as I have after seeing this movie. Too bad Dave Attell never stopped by; we would have wept together.

SG Lennon is coming into Des Moines on the 14th; I think she's opening for Alice Cooper. Good times. biggrin

If you've come this far, better post a comment. I know where you live.

Sorry to be so abrupt about this, but I'm leaving SG for a while. I'm taking a hiatus to deal with some stuff, and I don't think that I'll have as much time to be active here any more. I probably will return in the near future, but until then, I just want to say thank you to all the wonderful friends I made, and the site owners in general; I had a great time, met some incredibly intelligent and funny people, and look forward to coming back when things are more conducive.

To all the people on my friends list : Au revoir, and all the best. I'm going to be taking a list of who you are so that I can add you to my list again when I hopefully return. I'm thinking of taking a road trip down to the West Coast next summer (hopefully Oregon or Kahlifohnia), and if that works out, it would be wonderful to meet up with some of the friends that I have who herald from those parts.

Take care, guys. And keep the shit flying.

Hahahahahahaha.

I just went out drinking, and the bar that I went to had a karaoke night, and this drunk girl just wouldn't stop singing.

The only thing was, she sounded like a cat in its death throes.

I got kinda buzzed, but she still sounded like she was caterwauling. I just wanted to bury my face in my hands and weep for the poor girl.

People with bad karaoke skills ought to be convicted for crimes against humanity.

hey, fellas. hope everyone had a good thanksgiving. to everyone who posted here last time round : thanks, i really appreciate it. didn't really do all that much myself for the break; watched videos and read, in between bouts of sleep and bingeing on dessert.

'affliction' is really good. watching nick nolte's character slip into madness in the bleak grey of new england was kind of depressing. he was great, though. one of the better movies i've seen in a long time. the kind of cinema that i really like for the most part.

also watched 'taxi driver'. yeah, i know, it's a classic, should have watched it earlier. but hey, i finally got around to it. watched it right after affliction, which allowed me to see de niro's character descend into his own special brand of insanity. lovely. whatever great movie on the whole. although seeing a young jodie foster was kind of horrifying; she had this uncanny resemblance to one of my ex girlfriends, right down to the mannerisms. (and no, my ex girlfriend was *not* a hooker) smile

i've been reading one of the Delta Green series ('Dark Theaters'). These lyrics were in one of the stories, and I liked them, so here goes :

I said I loved you-I lied
I said I loved you- fuck, I lied
I loved myself better than you
Because of that, you died.

I love the jacket, I love my nurse
I love my master, love my curse
I love my fucking medication
I love creamed corn and sedation

And here I am-in bliss....
Here I am, in bliss
All I've got now is me
And funny thing....
It's you that I miss
It's you I miss
It's you I miss....

Take care, guys.

Snow on Monday doth cometh.

It's that time of the night, and the tavern doth calleth.

*Please feel free to nominate me for any number of 'nausea-inducing poverty' awards'*

lol. i've been on a long hiatus, with school and all that. honestly, the people at SG never fail to amaze me; crazy intelligent, funny as shite, women who have no problems smashing norms and flaunting their stuff. but mostly the boards. jesus, these people have their bases covered for the most part. too bad i never had this in my earlier college years; i could have written entire papers based on opinion, and unless my professor was willing to trawl porn websites to check my sources........................ tongue

but yeah...i'm looking to travel a bit more in the near future, possibly to the west coast...if i ever do make it down there, maybe i can find some awesome SGers to hook up with and show my naive ass around.

alright, where's that fucking drink already?...................

have a good night, guys. thanks to all of you who posted......i'll definitely get back to you.

'ello, world. Stumbled upon this site recently, and figured that I'd spent $3 on stranger things than a membership at a strange website that actually seems to have a modicum of....wait for it....intelligence! yes! there is intelligent life on the internet! thank you jesus...i'll be back later tonite. i'll leave you with a missive from my friend Byron. Made for a good few days of pondering for me :

smile

The echo of a thousand voices Thunders in our heads
As the melodies there engendered Whispers of the fathomless mystery of the soul,
Piercing us with these same passions That characterize our essence.
We are the instruments.
Our souls, The symphony of our desire.
Like petals on the summer breeze,
By this desperate cry we are animated,
A marionette on astral strings As the bright moon wanes.
Slipping into the darkling distance,
It crystallizes into a single plaintive song dimly wailing its message:
We will die soon, you and I, And join the voices on the other side.
