Well, Happy New Year everybody! I can't believe that right now it is 1/1/08! Where does the time go? Anyway, all I can say is I am hoping that 2008 will be a better year than 2007 and I hope 2008 is great for all of you as well!
Sorry it has been a while again since the last time I blogged... been busy medically as usual. Went in for yet another darn procedure but luckily it looked okay. I had an esophagealgastroduodenoscopy (or EGD) and it did not show much except that my newest ailment is not coming from my stomach like I thought, but looks like it is coming from my spleen. I have had spleen problems before so hopefully we can get this taken care of swiftly.
I did have a lovely Christmas and New Years Eve. Christmas Eve was spent at my parents house...we did not too a whole heck of a lot since my parents were going to midnight mass and my dad was one of the Eucharistic ministers for that mass. We had seafood and mini sandwiches and called it a night. For Christmas day, we opened presents for 3 hours at my house. I had my mom and dad over to my house for Christmas morning with me and Kevin. I got lots of lovely new presents including the one I wanted most... that electronic dock that turns my iPod compatible with any telelvision and/or stereo system. (Thanks Kevin!) After that we went to my parents house for lasagna Christmas dinner.
Last night for New Years Eve, we had a small gathering at my house for a few pounds of jumbo shrimp cocktail and then proceeded to top it all with luxury.... pizza from dominoes! lol.... At the end we toasted the evening with my favorite White Star champagne. We are not celebrating New Year's Day until the 3rd actually so my two friends Melissa and Leta can make it along with Kevin and my parents. It will be the last big eating hurrah before dieting to get rid of the extra Christmas pounds!
Well, that is about all for now. Be sure to check out Dance Wars with Bruno and Carrie Ann starting on January 7th I believe... as well as American Idol on January 15th... looking foward to both of those. I love to critique those shows so anyone who wants to critique with me, to blog away and keep up with my writings and I will keep up with yours!
Ta Ta for now! Talk to you soon!
Love, Karen

Catching Up - Updating
Hello everybody!
Sooo sorry it has been so long since I have written anything. After I had my surgery on October 31st, I was recouping and then I got a cold. Yuck. Anyway, all is much better now although I am sad that my Dancing with the Stars is all over. At least the correct couple won! I love Helio and Julianne. Can you believe that Celine Dion asked to be on the show next season? That would be so awesome! Now I am looking foward to Dance Wars!!!
Well, now that my cold is calming down...I am happy to say that I am done writing my Christmas cards...both my online Christmas cards as well as my "regular in the mail" ones too. I only sent out about 65 this year as opposed to over 100 cards last year. It is amazing how much stamps will cost ya...not that that is the reason why I cut down on my cards. I just decided that if I did not get a card in the mail the last 2 years from the person, then to heck with them this year! LOL (Except for you Melissa... I know you are Christmas Card handicapped!)
Really not too much new happening with me. I have all my decorations up for the holiday season... my outside area looks like it is lighting up the entire neighborhood! lol. Inside is rather lit as well... I have my old fashioned lit city buildings, the tree, stuff in each window etc etc etc..... I am also finishing my Christmas shopping in the next couple of days as well. All the gifts are wrapped and I think all is a go. I am glad I am done really early.
So, now I must leave you with some words of wisdom...I guess I will leave you with this regarding family and in particular...children, (although I don't have any children of my own). Children are another of God's precious gifts...make sure you always put your children (and your family) as your highest priority in your life...if not, you may regret it. Family is too special not too cherish everyday of your life so don't take it for granted as not everybody has family to cherish in the first place. Just a few words and thoughts for you to think about this holiday season.
Take care everybody and I will talk to you soon!
Love, Karen

Well, I just wanted to say... GO SOX! I am so psyched... along with John and Kim and Liz and Kristen and Ryan and numerous others that we will be going to the world series!!! Made my day! Let's all keep our fingers crossed that they can rock the rockies!
Also, I wanted to add my thoughts and opinions on this years newest TV shows (at least the ones I have viewed) and which ones I would suggest you do not miss....My 3 favorites are...
1. Pushing Daisies - I can't say enough about this cute show. Whoever thought of this storyline sure has a great sense of imagination. The cast is great and the show is fun and fresh. The pie maker that touches the dead, brings them back to life for 60 seconds and then touches them again and they are dead again... quite silly...but, put together in the most wonderfully entertaining way. My only problem is that the 2 ladies on the show...Chuck and Olive...they are both so cute and both love the piemaker...who are we supposed to root for? Personally, I like Chuck for the piemaker. Do check out this show Wednesdays at 8pm.
2. Women's Murder Club - Love the show...Love Angie Harmon...and of course the writer of the books this show is based on, James Patterson, ain't too shabby either! If you love poilce dramas with the girls personal dramas thrown in there as well which is rather funny at times, you will love this show! Catch this show Friday nights at 9pm.
3. Bionic Woman - This is my favorite new show this season. You can probably figure out the plot from the title. Catch it Wednesday nights at 9pm after Pushing Daisies!
Now going back to shows we all know and love from previous seasons....the ones I would say not to miss are...House (definitely!), Law and Order SVU, Boston Legal, Heroes, Cold Case, Without a Trace and one of my personal favorites, Dancing with the Stars!
For the school kids in your family...junior high and high school age...the big favorite would have to be Degrassi...you can catch that one on the N network at 8pm on Friday nights.
Hope all is well with everyone...take care and enjoy all the new shows this fall!

Okay, so the correct person went home on Dancing with the Stars... but I can't beleive that Melanie was in the bottom 2! I mean really.... she is a much better dancer than Mark is! I give Mark a lot of credit, he is trying, but let's get real, he needs to be the one sent packing next week unless Kym can produce a miracle! Geesh, I don't know who to vote for now! I guess next week I better vote for Melanie... I have 3 phone to vote with so I voted this week 9 times for Melanie and the rest of the votes this week went to Cameron since I was so impressed with his routine... I will admit, I usually vote for Helio and Melanie equally cause I love em both... it is going to be hard from now on seeing people go home since I like everybody else that is left except for Mark. Hopefully he will be sent packing next week... Oh, and can we discuss how badly Wayne sounded on this results show? His voice is totally gone so I think he should probably retire.... he had a great voice in his day, but now it really is gone... UGH. Oh well, at least we don't have to endure his dancing anymore... What do you all think about this weeks results?
Okay, now that we have watched DWTS for this week, it is time to critique it. First I must say, the music selections for this week SUCKED! Can't they come up with some Strauss music for the waltzes and not Billy Joel? Personally I do not like to waltz to rock n roll.
As for who did well... my best picks for this week are as follows...
I was so pleased to see Edyta and Cameron do wonderfully... I loved loved loved the Superman routine.
Sabrina kicked butt as usual... love her.
I really enjoyed Jenny this week...I thought they did an amazing job.
Jane and Tony were glamorous as always.
Unfortunately, the ones who are my favorites....Helio/Julianne and Melanie/Max... well, although they were okay, they were not my favorites this week.
Finally, may I just say, Mark and especially Floyd need to be sent packing!
It was very sad to watch Floyd this week... I actually was laughing out loud when I watched his routine...he may be a good boxer, but a dancer he is NOT! It looked like he had to, to put it nicely, do a number 2 through his entire routine! ewwww.
So, my pick to go home this week is Floyd. Am I correct? Guess we will find out tonight! What are your thoughts?
Until next time!

Hey everybody! Thought I would drop in and say hello and get you up to date on my exciting life! lol
Looking foward to dancing with the stars tonight. I will definitely be sure to add my comments on that on another entry.
My little sweetie, Holly, my black lab, is going in for surgery on October 24th. Luckily she does not have cancer and she will make a full recovery. I am so glad, it would not be right moving into a new house without her.
Speaking of new houses...after I have my surgery on halloween, I am going to be taking a few road trips to check out a few other areas other than Florida. I want to stay where it is warm most of the time, and I imagine I will stay in Florida, although South Carolina is my 2nd closest bet...anyone have any other ideas of places where you can buy a nice new big house in a nice neighborhood where the taxes are not that bad?
Hmmm... what else, oh, we are having a little party at my parents house in honor of many things actually... it is my moms 66th birthday, my parents 43rd wedding anniversary, my friend Melissa's 4th wedding anniversary, and my friend Kevin's 34th birthday... and to think all this happens in the same week! Since my birthday is in June and I am not married, I guess I will just show up for cake and ice cream!
Well, that is all for now, and can I just say GO RED SOX!!!!
Talk soon!

Hello all!
Well, it is 6am in the morning this Tuesday and I thought I would write my first blog on this site. If you also read my myspace site, you will notice that a lot of the blogs may match.
So, what is new with me... well, I am actually having surgery on Halloween... how freaky is that!?! Hopefully the ghosts and ghouls won't get me.
OHHH, and I have to say Congrats to one of my best friends... Liz, who is getting married! It is about time!!!
Still reading my latest Ann Rule book and I can hardly put it down! If you have not read her books and you are a fan of true crime, I highly suggest you pick one up... I suggest the I-5 killer, Stranger Beside Me or Green River Running Red. Each time I finish a book, by any author, I will be sure to put my opinions in my blog. I will also do the same with movies, TV, sporting events, etc etc etc....
Did anyone happen to watch Dancing with the Stars last night? Oh gosh, will someone please put Wayne out of his misery please! How much longer will we have to endure him? UGH Go Helio, Melanie and Sabrina!
Oh, and I must say, I simply loved the new program Pushing Daisies... What a unique concept! House is still my favorite show though (along with DWTS and AI)
Hmmmm, what else... awww, I have to mention, so sad, I found a lump on my black labs tummy. I am bringing her to the vet on Thursday... hopefully she will be okay. She is still eating everything in site and running all around the house, so she certainly is not in any pain thankfully!
Another exciting event going on with me right now is I am looking for a new home! Well, for those of you how know me, I currently own a 4 bedroom home, however, I am looking for a home with a covered pool area and a larger yard for my 2 dogs. Not only am I looking in Florida, but I am also taking a trip in November to check out South Carolina and I also want to check out Arizona as well. If anyone knows any information about SC or AZ, do let me know!
That is about all I am going to write for now. I am going to try to keep this blogging thing going and see how I do. I hope you will enjoy it and hope to perhaps hear from you too!

You are all so beautiful and I love that you are comfortable with yourselves no matter what you wear and no matter what you do. Isn't it a shame everybody can't be like that!
