The horticultural extravaganza begins.

Gardens, herbs and veggies, are in the ground. Nut trees are loaded with blossums; cherries in a few weeks; blackberries growing like weeds, 'cause they are; Vineyard is florishing, all is well in paradise.

This Winter is dragging on too long, time to go.

Got all my organic non-hybrid/GMO seed. This year going to add a real herb garden, Mediterrenean. Still trying to find Wasabi and ginger root stock, the stuff in the markets won't grow. Expanding the veggies this year, maybe this is the year I can make it to full vegan, just have to exercise more to burn off the carbs.

Cars are slowly making progress, mostly shining rubbing and derusting. Decided to retain the original colors, white for the OSCA and Red for the ALFA, sadly found that storing a car is not good for them at all they need to live and breath to be happy.

Running is a pain in the Winter, I hate the cold and dampness; and it seems to be worse this Invierno. Madam has started running with me now, so I will at least have a French boosie to look at, Renoir understood my obcession.

Think 2013 will be a good year, the 12/12/21 thing may have some merit. The World is finally getting tired of the greed and the hate, we may well be heading into a new era of peace and enlightenment. We have a long way to go, but there are too many working toward it for it to fail. Confident we all will have all we need and less than we want, it will make us all so much better.

Finally started to get cold here, The veggie garden gave up last week, everything else was long gone.

Hoping to get my Dad's baby Maserati restoration started this Winter, worse than I thought, hasn't been driven since 1975, the year that the last Maserati brother, Ernesto, left us. Decided to take it completely apart and do it properly. Always loved Italian cars, Alfas FIATs, OSCAs all beautiful art in tin.

Running is still in the plan, the cold weather makes it a challenge, but its much easier to plod on than start over in the Spring. 5 miles in the morning and 5 miles at night seems to work well, hope the old bones continue to tolerate it. Never had any injuries, so I'm optimistic.

Total inside house renovation in the works basement den is all encased in porcelain, new ceiling next, then the main floor. All oak floors, repainted walls and new ceilings thoughout. Porcelain in the kitchen and bath too. I'm not too good at it so I just help the master mason. I'm trusted to cut, butr not apply.

Hope the holidays treat you and yours well and that 2013 is better than ever. Don't sweat the 21st can't stop the Universe anyway.

The OSCA must be white, as the Maserati bothers insisted

Which color? I'm restoring my old high school ride['57 Alfa Romeo Giulietta 750 Spider] from the ground up. The original color was Rosso[red]. But, I'm seriuosly looking at Grigio Graphite[graphite grey]. What do you think? Please vote.

Determined to keep up the running this Winter, too much work to catch up in the Spring.
If I can maintain my 10 miles 5 days a week I'll be more than happy. I just hate the cold, especially my hands, they refuse to warm up until I get to about 1.5 miles. I guess the circulation all goes to my legs until I get them moving smoothly. Just bought a used SoloFlex so I can get a better upper body workout. The other one had allot of good stuff for the legs and shoulders, but it had no good pec movements like the SF.

The vineyard, orchard, and gardens are pretty much done for the year, should have some good Chardanay in about 2 years. The Merlots did well, but red wine does not like me, flows freely thru, so to speak. Have allot of pruning this Winter, with all the rain and hot sun this Summer, everything went wild. Hopping this is a mild Winter so I can live outside in the sunlight.

Anybody hear any new music lately, All I can find is the SOS. Alabama Shakes is pretty good, but I've worn them pretty thin this Summer. I guess most of their touring has been in Europe, maybe get to see them in Atlanta or Asheville this Winter. Its old school Mussel Shoals but they sound fresh. Digging out some of my Kate Bush CDs. Those are great for long drives in the night. I used to like to play "Runnin' Up That Hill" when was, see if it still works. Met Darrell Scott and Ross Allen backstage at a local park concert. Grilled them some Angus burgers and garden burgers after their performances.

Hoping yo'all had a great Summer and that the Winter treats you well. Don't forget to register and vote, this one is important, we can't go back.

Daily rain made the back yard look more like a hayfield than a yard. Chewed it up once, think it'll need 2 more groomings next week. Vineyard loves it too, made allota wood this year, about 2 more years and I'll start to let them produce grapes. The veggie garden was a bust this year except for tomatoes from hell, literally a ton of Romas. Peppers got cooked out badly.

Got my two babies transported from PA to their new home in Tennessee, a '61 Maserati [OSCA] and my high school car a '57 Alfa Romeo Giulietta. Dusty and rusty but will slowly come back to their original beauty. They lived in my parents barn since college and the draft['72].

Really hot for running this Summer, but still good for a good twice daily sweat. I always run after dark, so it's allot more bearable. All the bones and muscles are fine, the air is what's hard to find. Still faster than 90% of the 20 Y.O.s even at 60. Fighting old age with a vengeance, I'm winnin' so far.

Gotta get Junior's Honda all serviced for his return to U Tenn. Gotta get the AC back with the living, can't hardly live without it anymore, gettin' soft I guess.

Hoping y'all have more than you need and not all that you want, a little hunger is a great motivator .

Started on an intense war against old age today. Always been somewhat obscessive about fitness, but this will be more intense. 10 miles a day running[5/5] working on speed; upper body workouts 5 days a week. I was wandering the interweb and ran across the Svetlana Romanova site, absolute fitness perfection. No more junk food binges, hope I can maintain the discipline and the old bones hold out. Polishing the abs up will be the big push, but general improvement will be the side benefit. Got the gardens and vineyard in pretty good shape, so I can give the fitness about 3 hours a day over the Summer. My big problem is Winter, I hate cold and have a hard time getting out to run in the Winter. Takes about a mile and a half for my hands to get warm, guess its all the blood going to my legs 'til the heart and lungs catch up. Don't have a treadmill, so if my brain wont let me outside, the Winter is always a fat-fest. I keep talking about another marathon, but winter always kills the plans, long since over promises, but maybe next year.

Trying to find some truely new music, anybody heard anything that wasn't "me too"? The last 5 years has been a big music dryspell, can't stand to listen to the radio at all anymore. I did hear Alabama Shakes on Letterman a few weeks ago, kinda retro but a fresh sound. Kerli is somewhat bearable, gues I've always had a spot for EuroDub. The Eastern Block is starting to produce some promising noise in the last few years, Estonia and Romania has some surprising things if you dig deep.

Funny, how during the cold war, when I was in the military we were always told how butt ugly the Soviet women were. With my new found weakness for Ukrainian ballet dancers, I would have been a loyal card carrying communist for life if I had experienced them first hand. The fall of the Wall has turned loose a wave of the most devastating beauty I have ever seen in my life, a challenge even to México.

My brain's empty now, hoping Y'all have a great Summer, I'm off to run a few miles.

Perfect running weather in the evening now, cool and dry. hope to get up to 50 miles a week before fall, the old bones are holding up so far.

French grapes are growing fast now, lots of rain and hot sun, seems to be good for everything. The yellow cherry tree all survived the late frost as did the nuts, pears, and plums. Herb gardens are 2 feet tall already, need to plant the veggies soon. All Italian herlooms from now on, organic as possible, except for a few blue peruvian potatoes.

Still moving cars, the Alfa and Osca are the only ones that survived the march of time. Two of my baby FIATs were too rusty to salvage, had to send them to scrap. Too many projects anyway, hoping to get the '57 Alfa Giulietta back to nearly 100 points and that will be allot of work and money.

Life is good, have all I want and much more than I need.
