I worry too much sometimes.

Yesterday, when I announced over Facebook that I had a job interview, I was asked where it was. When I said where it was, I had someone tell me that they had worked there, and that it wasn't a great place to be. I then became concerned, because having spent five years working at one place and becoming very unhappy working there by the time I left, the last thing i want to do is go work somewhere else where I'm likely to be even more unhappy than I already am. Given the choice, I'd rather keep living on EI for the next little while than take a job I'll most likely end up quitting within a month.

In other news, the Taboo Sex Show is next weekend. Can't wait to hook up with the SuicideGirls that will be attending. Sadly, my plan to make sure I have lots and lots of money for that weekend is shaky (ended up spending money today to get a number of things I would have preferred I wait until AFTER next weekend to get), but hopefully I won’t need to spend any more money before then.

Sent out a couple of resumes today, and wouldn't you know it, I just got off the phone with one of the places I sent them in. Got a job interview tomorrow. Things might be looking up after all.

Hey, all. I think it's time for me to do a proper blog now that the holidays are over.

First off, Christmas. I had a pretty good day, and got a couple of great things, including a Darth Vader USB key. It's pretty awesome. Spent the day with my grandparents, and had a pretty good time there. Nothing on Boxing Day caught my eye, so I didn't buy anything.

As for the Doctor Who Christmas Special...well, it was pretty good, with the Sontaran stealing the show with his comedy lines. I knew that I would love Jenna-Louise Coleman back when Asylum of the Daleks aired, so she was one of the highlights of the thing. The end makes me wonder what Moffat's got planned for the second half of the season. Hope it's something good.

As for the new year...I'm still looking for a new job. I have an appointment with my caseworker at WorkBC next week that will hopefully lead to me getting a wadge subsidy. And, of course, there's the The Taboo Naughty But Nice Show the third week of January, where the BC SuicideGirls will be attending. (Can't wait to meet up with Tita, Rydell and whoever else will be there. I'll be there the whole weekend, so if you're there and see me, feel free to say hi. )

Hey, all. Not quite back from my holidays, but I'll try to be around whenever I can.

In other news, I'm doing this blog post to complain about iTunes. I bought a $15 gift card today, and came home to purchase some stuff, only to find that I can't purchase anything. Does anyone else have this problem and/or know how to get around it?

Well, with the holidays upon us, I just wanted to announce that I'll be offline till the new year. So to all my friends, if you don't hear from me till the second week of January, that'll be why.

The job search continues, and hopefully something will come up in the near future.

So I found out that these guys are coming out this week.



For those who don't know, these are the next wave for Transformers Generations figures. I've been looking forward to them for a long time, especially the Ultra Magnus and Starscream figures. They, along with Kickback (upper left hand corner) and Sideswipe (upper right hand corner) were on my list to collect.

Which would be great...if I had the cash. Sadly, due to the combination of Christmas and needing to get my figurative house in order thanks to the lull before my EI kicked in, I don't have the money to do so. Not till next week, any way. By witch time, they'll be LONG gone.

Well...hopefully they can show up at my LCS sooner rather than later, when I can feel easy waiting for them.

After having spent the past month waiting for my EI application to be approved (and spending the majority of that time bitching about the fact that the whole process was going so slowly a turtle could outrun it), it finally (finally...finally) got approved today, and I've begun to collect it. It's not much, but with a little careful planning (and a lot of luck), it should be good enough to keep me afloat for a while.

In other news, I'm attending a couple of workshops this week that will, hopefully, help get me a new job. They also said they might look into wage subsidy, which would be helpful, too.

And also...DARK KNIGHT RISES ON DVD TODAY! (I know what I'll be doing tonight! )

I'm a big fan of Transformes (being born four months before the whole franchise kicked off), so I'm too young to have remembered it back in its heyday. One of my prized possessions is a taped VHS copy of the Animated Movie, taped sometime in the late 80s (going by the commercials). I date this because it has, at the beginning, the puppet sequences with Powermaster Optimus Prime, used during the rare "Season 5", which consisted of 15 episodes of the series and the Animated Movie broken up into five episodes.

For a long time, I've never see any other footage of the Puppet Optimus Prime sequences, so it was amazing to me when I came across this on YouTube.



Watching this makes me feel young again.
