I joined because I don't know very many people on SG. I'm currently only friends with nine people; four of them are models (only three of whom I know personally), four are hopefuls (one of whom I know; the other three decided to friend me) and one is a regular member like me.
I'm interested in meeting new people. I'm kinda shy and tend to live in my own world, but I'd love to get to know and make new friends. smile
I spent the weekend thinking about this, and I realized that the reason I don't have that many SG friends is because I haven't really tried to make friends. I've done some blog posts, joined some groups and posted on the boards, but I haven't really made any friends outside of the people who have friended me. (Of my nine friends, I only sent friend requests to two of them, and that's because I met them in RL and asked if I could; the others sent friend requests to me.)
There are some people I would like to friend, but I'm concerned that they might not respond on account of the fact that they don't know who I am. I can totally understand that, since, unless I knew who they were, I wouldn't want to friend anyone who friended me out of the blue, either. At the same time, I realize that this situation is a classic catch-22: I can't make friends if I don't try to, but the fact that I don’t know what would happen if I tried keeps me from making the effort.
Hopefully I can come out of my shell enough to try. There are some great people here, and I’d like to be friends with them.
