I just got accepted to a masters program in NUI Galway. Yay!!!
Its the only course I wanted to do (MA in community development) and there were only 14 places so i was really nervous about getting it.
Add to that the fact that my Undergraduate degree isn't very good, it all came down to my enthusiasm and personality and some wonderful references from lecturers in my former college.

I'm officially happy. I have absolutely everything i could ask for and a thousand times more.
I have the most amazing girlfriend and the nicest most supportive family, a great place to live in a nice town with good friends, and now i have a direction in my life that I am really happy with.
Everything rocks.
(except the war in iraq, that sucks)

Well that was a nice christmas, Nothing mad at all, just stayed in at my mothers house on christmas day and had a few drinks and played twister. Well a few drinks out of the giant beer glass my brother bought for me so it wasn't as quiet and civilised as it could have been, which is a good thing.

Looking forward to a short trip to Prague in january. it's such a beautiful city.

It was supposed to snow today, it didn't in my town, we just got really cold rain. That's partially why I have such a bad headache

Lets put it this way.

I started seeing little animals living on the pineapple someone gave me.

It was a good party.

about 200 people turned up (i think), 3 bands played as well as loads of people who had a go with a guitar and a song. Not too much damage caused tho some people did trash the bathroom and steal some lights and stuff.
the cops only showed up once and only arrested 3 for 'suspected underaged drinking' but I called their parents and told them they weren't drinking and that the cops were just being assholes (they fuckin were) so they were all let out after less than a half an hour.

One guy drank 2 bottles of whiskey in one go and went apeshit before lapsing into a coma but i reckon his hangover will teach him to cop on..

I hadn't worn that watch in almost 2 years, since it was given to me by my mother after my fathers funeral. I'm not sure why I wore it on wednesday night but as I was speeding in a car towards limerick city calling an ambulance for my youngest brother who had just slit his wrists and taken an overdose, all i could think about was the watch. My fathers watch. The watch he died wearing, i think there is still some of his blood in a crevice of the bracelet from where he cut his hand as he fell to the floor when the pills took their fatal effect.
The watch was incidental it did not cause my brother to attempt to take his own life, but the symbolism was overwhelming. When I was sitting in the hospital with my brother, high from the vodka, painkillers and adrenaline, he kept talking about how he finally had empathy with our father.

He's at home now, there is no permenent damage to his body. His family are trying to ease the troubles in his mind, It will be his 18th birthday in just over a week. I hope to throw him a 21st in 3 years time.

I think I pissed off one of my best friends last night by accidentally calling his girlfriend a psycho just because she left 25 messages on my voicemail demanding o know where he was.

21st of may. That is the date of what is going to be officially, the greatest house party in the history of the world ever.

I am pretty fortunate to have access to a spectacular house party venue, My family used to run a guesthouse but that's been closed for about a year so I have access to the dining room and most of the house.
I've already got two locl bands to come and play some of their own music (In my town there is nowhere for local bands to play their own songs, all the pubs only want cover bands) I'm also gonna encourage an open mic when the bands are not playing.

It's going to be big, which, unfortunately, creates a few problems that I'm going to have to work out.

In fact I am now, and I have been for a long while,

I should ask for directions but what use would they be?
Nobody knows where I'm supposed to be going.
Not even me, especially not me.

I've got all the tourist destinations marked on my tourist map,
I've leaned against monuments but left no mark and took no photographs.
If anyone asks I'll say I was there. And I'll talk about my next great adventure,
It will be different every time, it will be marked on my map.
I'll do it soon, I fully intend to, but right now I've got to stop the bleeding and escape from this room with the sticky floor.
