Stupid Threadless, stealing my soul.
I have a new design Here, but I'm looking for input on it. Got praise? Criticism? Mindless rage? I'd love to hear any of it! So please post.

Huzzah for shameless plugging!
I submitted a design to Threadless to be voted on, and if it gets high enough scores then it'll be printed. You can take a look at it HERE.
Please do vote, and post comments if the mood strikes you! Feedback makes me a happy girl, and you do want me to be happy, don't you?
Thanks in advance

Blech. Rejection is uncool.
Honestly, I'm not all that surprised, but I still want all the constructive criticism I can get! So please check the set on the hopefuls page and comment a lot. It'll make me very happy if you do.

So, what's new? Let's see...school's over now so I'm relaxing in my hometown at my parents' house for a while. It's been ok, I've been meeting up with high school friends and catching up on my reading. I've suddenly realized that University has ruined my brain forever; now that I've learned to apply critical thinking skills to real life, I can't turn them off. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to be entertained by TV when all the news makes you angry, all the ads seem unethical, and all the shows seem vacuous? So it's been difficult to keep myself entertained.
The only useful thing I think I can do with my spare time is to try to shoot another set for SG. I think I learned from my mistakes last time, and I'll try not to rush the process this time around.

Well, I posted some of my art here, so you can check it out if you're curious. The Emergence photo is part of a series, and I'm thinking of posting pictures of the "On Sex and Text" painting while it was in progress to show how it came to be...but it'll take a while to resize all those photos. I intend to do it once I have the chance, though (i.e. once school is over). Feel free to comment!
Cheers.
Cheers.
Well, I guess I should introduce myself and say a little more about who I am so that everyone can get to know me a little better...where to start?
My background is Egyptian as far back as forever, but I was born in Saudi Arabia and lived there for five years or so, until my sister was born, and things got too violent with the Iraq-Iran crisis, so we moved to Egypt. We were there for maybe four years or so until my dad got a job in Canada, so we were shuttled off to Kincardine, then Ajax, then I mved to Kingston to study art. Art has always been a huge part of my life, and I don't think there has ever been a time where I had seriously considered doing anything but art until I die. And especially now, living in Kingston, I realize that I have a lot to say about culture, religion, politics, and generally about the way the world works, especially since the experiences I've had throughout my life are so different from those of the average Canadian. I've seen war, violence, poverty, abuse, misogyny, racism, and xenophobia face to face, and those tend to be the things I talk about in my art. Right now I'm going though a "Women and Islam" phase with my paintings, I'll upload some picutures soon enough if anyone's curious.
But despite all that, I'm really not a depressing person when you talk to me, honest. I like Monty Python and Eddie Izzard (I prtty much know "Holy Grail" and "Dress to Kill" off by heart). I like cherry blossom trees and lace and freshly baked cookies and boys that make me laugh and those thick belts that sit on your waist. I like green eyes and Thai food and Carl Sagan and Dean Martin and any cocktail that has Bailey's in it. I like Montreal! Oh how I love Montreal...the culture, the architecture, the history, the culture...plus, the people are nicer than in Toronto. So yes, that's me in a blog post. And if you like any of the things I like maybe we'll be friends, and if you like any of the things I dislike, well, we can still be friends, but be ready for a friendly debate
Cheers and godspeed.

I just adore this community of strong, sexy punk rock ladies and the guys and girls who love them. I'll do my best to add something intersting to the discussion, and maybe get a chance look at some nekkid photos in the meantime.
