I've been thinking about making the pilgrimage to Heinz Field for a couple of years now but next year they're landing on my doorstep!
I really couldn't be more excited! It may seem silly to others but the universe seems a little bit brighter today!

Kicking back on what has felt like my first proper day off in ages!
Feeling a little more relaxed today away from work. I was kinda forced into this position being made redundant from my last job. Not that I was thrilled there but it kinda pulled the rug from under my feet. In sheer desperation I took the first job that was offered to me and in retrospect I really should have waited!
Anyway, the smells of sunday lunch are in the air and I've got a record spinning. I'm in a good mood. Looking forward to tonight when I'm off to a buddy's to watch some NFL. After making him watch the Superbowl last year I managed to convert him and he's now a Patriots fan. If you didn't know I'm a Steelers man myself. Tonight back to back, Steelers vs Eagles, Patriots vs Broncos. Great that SKY in the UK now have NFL broadcasts. Should be fun!
Got a short week at work next week so plenty of me time. Counting down to the Friday release of the Dishonoured video game. Been waiting for that one! And are any of you Red Dwarf fans? Absolutely fantastic opening episode to season X. Those in the states should really download it!

Last night I fell in love. 
Caught a gig in Nottingham. Bosnian Rainbows, including Omar Rodriguez Lopez of the Mars Volta and At The Drive In fame. Also Deantoni Parks on drums, Nicci Kaspar on keyboards and the lovely Teri Suarez (aka Teri Gender Bender of Le Butcherettes) leading the vocals.
She sure can dance! An absolutely wild performance and such an intimate gig. Might be the best I've ever witnessed. I knew it was going to be a special night when Teri entered the room walked over to me and bowed, palms together as I applauded a little too excitedly!
Got some really cool pics and videos I'll have to upload. If you've not heard them I seriously recommend you check them out!

My vinyl copy of Mule Variations arrived on the doorstep today! Could be Tom Waits best work. Especially with the beautiful final song 'Come On Up To The House'. That part of the record will get well worn I bet!

I decided to make my long awaited return to the site after over a year. (Has it really been that long!?) Gonna make a serious effort at keeping a blog this time.
Quite a few changes since last time. Got some new friends, got a new job, seen a lot of movies, heard a lot of records. Spent about 10 weeks in the dole queue after being made redundant from my last job and now work for a leading high street electrical retailer (there's only really one in the UK so that should be a big clue!) And you know what? I hate it! I hate it so much I've been thinking of putting down the cash to go back to studying. A masters in media production or something?
Felt like I needed a pick me up so rejoined the site. Plus Missy Suicide has a way with words in those 'we miss you' emails
And this site is populated by some really cool people. That's right, if you're reading this you're very cool! Haha! Not to mention the girls themselves (Lass, oh my!)
'Bout to drop the needle and listen to some more music. I've had a vinyl revival and amassed quite a collection of Tom Waits' records. He's been keeping me company during the summer months.

Ok so this is kinda cheating and an update for the sake of it, but it occurs to me that I've not blogged since last October! Jeez I'm bad at this!
Well I'm still with you guys. Still rocking the site. Kinda glad that I'll be joined by people at work tomorrow. Because of the royal wedding people have had about a week and a half of work! Not muggins here! though I have enjoyed a few longer weekends so not all bad!

In a better mood. Enjoying a chilled out weekend. Got tickets to see Black Label Society in London in February! Seems like I've been waiting years for them to tour again. Booked the time off work so have a very Metal week to look forward to!

Feeling pretty low about myself today. It doesn't really help much looking the way I do but I caught sight of the top of my head in a mirror the other day. You see male pattern baldness runs in my family and I've been hit pretty bad! You cant really tell from my profile pic either but I also have long hair worn back 99% of the time. I know lots of hair isn't everything but it was pretty damn devastating to discover

Time for an update! Too easy to fall into the trap of checking everyone else's blogs and not my own.
Life has been boringly predictable recently. Same old routines. Did discover however that my new work collegue and I share the same social circles going back about six years despite not knowing each other. A lot of that has been happening recently. I think I should adopt 'small world' as my catchphrase.
I became a Grinderman and general Nick Cave convert this week. The new album 'Grinderman 2' kept staring at me from the music press and so I dived in and am so glad I did. Absolutely outstanding! Think I'm gonna have to hunt down the Bad Seeds back catologue.
Incidently, Happy Birthday Nick Cave! 53 today.
Just got back from the picture house this afternoon having caught the latest M Night film 'Devil'. Generally pretty underwhelming stuff but better than The Last Airbender, or so I hear.
Thought to myself as I sat through the previews, how bothered are people really about subtitled movies? Let me explain - the trailer for 'Let Me In' came on. Its a remake of the Swedish 'Let The Right One In', a movie that both myself and a lot of others hail as a masterpiece. It just feels so unnessesary to remake it. Should I be so bothered?
Finally, I think I ought to upload a few more piccies of myself. After a few nights out I think I have a few despite feeling the most unphotogenic person in the world! Shall have to develop them (yes they're on film) and prove that that profile pic is not just a cardboard cutout of a grinning idiot
