My political world view has been changed irrevocably since our President, newly declared as compassionate and loving, has come out of the closet as a person of deep concern for humanity.
I expect that Our beloved President will soon impose a wealth tax to empower our rich to help the poor, as he now is profoundly committed. He may even interrupt a vacation week for this purpose.
I further believe that our sainted leader will immediately halt all executions, as any rational analysis of death row populations will show that at least 10% of the condemned are innocent.

If the religious right doesn't want a universal health care system then we should highlight their hypocrisy. We should picket the churches of these rat fuck "fundamentalists" and demand that they honor Christ's commandments to care for children, the poor, the weak, and the infirm. I heard David Pelz speak last night . He is the author of " A child named It". Quite an admirable guy. His motivation-message was "Get over it! Move on!".
Sadly, he has strong pro-war convictions. He seems to buy the whole basket of Bush bullshit.
There is buzz that Hollywood is doing a movie about his life as an abused child. Not sure if I can see it - I have a 13 year old daughter and have trouble "enjoying" a movie that puts a child's life in danger. I've become a Daddy-wuss, I suppose.

I just saw Lemony Snicket. To begin, I think that the sensibility of the book series is right on - kids know that terrible things happen to wonderful people in this world all the time. The author speaks truth to children while educating them without pandering.
And the movie is faithful to the books while being visually inventive. Carrey was at his best, and the children were played beautifully. Even Meryl Streep did a good job - and I haven't liked her work for over a deacade. Customes & sets were very, very well done.
One of the best children's films I have ever seen.
