Alright, this has been bugging me for years, so I am just going to come out and ask: What the HELL is the origin of "fixin' ta", as in "I'm a fixin' ta boil me up some taters? I don't mean to insult anybody's heritage here, but Jesus Christ how does something like that manage to slither it's way into the vernacular of roughly 20% of this country? Do you know how hard it is to walk somebody through a software upgrade over the phone when you are constantly deluged with such nuggets as "I'm fixin ta reboot as soon as i find me that Control - Alternator - Delete button."?

On a lighter note, I have spent the last few days immersed in Bon Scott Era AC/DC, most notably 1977's "Let There Be Rock". Is there a riff out there better than "Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be"?

yeah I have it. I have been alternating between it , the San Quentin one and old Marty Robbins. But it is gonna take awhile.

The fixin thing is bad enough but how about when it devolves down to the ven more reprehensible "finin ta". Used the same way just further down on the evolutionary ladder.

Those in the know know that the riff from if you want blood is THE riff my friend. its hard for me to listne to that song without punching a hole in the wall. "Rocker" is a close second. I think i actually like Rocker better, but the if you want blood riff is the fuckin tops

I never really dug Campbell Scott, and I guess i never really didn't dig him either, but I did always want to see Rodger Dodger....he befriends his wisdom of snatch on some kid right?

Imposters is a cool movie, i can't really explain it, but Buscemi plays a lounge singer named Happy, who cannot stop trying to kill himself...nice.

Never seen Blow. I have a hard time getting into movies that are real popular like that.
Im broke as a joke so no more beer for me untill i get my shit together and get employed.

Shit always gets fucked up for me when i actually start caring. I just need to adjust to that fact.
