Rod Stewart was cool in the '70s, ya know. A badass, even. He didn't always suck.

I remember being a kid in the summertime during the '70s, it was wonderful. I would leave the house at about 8am and not return until dinner. You and your friends would walk along the railroad tracks kicking bottles and crushing cans. Then it was off to go shoot hoops at the YMCA and ride to Blue Boy to chow down on those awesome frozen icee thingies. Then it was off to the field behind the Boys Home for a rousing afternoon of kite fighting. We would ride our bikes everywhere, it was unheard of for anybody to be dropped off by their parents. I did not know one obese kid, we were all thin as rails and happy as clams.

Those were the days.

i feel ya. before i could even ride a bike i was on some older kid's handle bars. the neighborhood was our playground. there was even a field close by where we could hide in the tall grass and dig enormous holes. and this was in Long Beach, CA...not a rural area.

its tough seeing how most kids have to live in this bubble now days. and its amazing to think that if we let our kids do the stuff we took for granted, a social worker will probably be knocking on our door in a second. i try not to get into that "good ole' days" mentality, but soooo much has changed.

it makes me want to live in a different country sometimes.

god it weirds me out to see 8 year olds with cell phones nowadays. if my parents needed to know where i was, they prayed i'd have the good sense to find a dime and a damn telephone booth.

we had a local construction site for a summer. they even dug a tunnel (of course totally off limits) under the closest major street that lead right into the park. i remember that as one of my best summers. nothing like rinsing your dusty popsicle with hose water!

My brother and I were bike riding fools back when we were little. But we were confined to just one block. It kinda sucked being the only kids in the neighborhood while all the other neighbors were at least 60 years old.

Hahaha, nah. We got yelled at alot and one of them actaully called the cops on us....for riding our bikes in front of their house too much. The cop was pissed at them.

I think the site of youth and happiness infuriated them.

Thanks Greggy. I'll be fine. I just hate that the one I want doesn't want me. Story of my life...

I just don't get it when they're like this "You're the best and beautiful and smart and cool and funny and great, it's not about you don't take it personally".... ummm... yeah.

Awesome live version of stay with me, noisy as hell. Shame about Rod, he can rock when he wants to.

I remember riding bikes. That was fun. I had this lame bike we got from the dump that had a bannana seat and those big high handle bars. That damn thing must have been at least twice as old as I was.
